Our group of 4 (myself, my 11 year old son and my mid 60 year-old parents) met up with Joel and another family of 4. Joel gave us a very informative, interesting and animated tour of the Niagara State Park (both Falls, Goat Island and Luna Island). We all thoroughly enjoyed the humor and information. It was a great way to begin our Niagara Falls stay and learn about the history of this awesome sight. It was also VERY reasonable $15 per adult/$10 per child. The tour/walk itself was leisurely with lots of stops along the way. My 11 year-old son even said that he would recommend the tour to another family with kids.

I called Joel, to book a tour, got his voicemail and didn't leave a message. He called right back, apologized for not running any tours the day we were in town. Then he gave me some great tips on a fab day visit agenda. Thank you Joel for being helpful to tourists even when it didn't put $ in your pocket. I promise we'll get your tour next time we are up in Niagara. We had a great trip thanks to you. Trip.

Thanks. My goal here is to help people have a great experience in Niagara. Hopefully you'll return home and tell others about our region and what it has to offer. If I can play any kind of role in promoting the area it benefits all. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Joel

First time in Buffalo and we wanted an insider who could give us a crash course on all things Buffalo. I saw Joel's online reviews, emailed him, and within hours had a private tour booked complete with a personalized itinerary.

Yes, we ended up seeing many of the area's famous sites (Niagara Falls, Bird Island Pier, the Naval and Military Park, Hotel Lafayette to name just a few) but we also drove by landmarks and through neighborhoods that don't make the cut on most tours. Joel's deep knowledge of the area (its history, geography, current state of affairs, and the people) plus his good-natured "warts and all" approach where he happily and humorously answered all questions asked, made for a tour like no other.

And, boy, can he take a picture. He literally will lie in the street to get the perfect shot : )

Joel, thank you for your incredibly warm welcome and exceptional guide service!

I recently visited Niagara Falls and my large family wanted to take a shorter walking tour. We meet up with our walking tour guide, Joel, and see that he is a bit eccentric. We walk along, taking a stop every 45 seconds to a minute and immediately noticed that every-time we stopped, one of my two cousins or I was picked every time to do an embarrassing demonstration to the rest of our family. The last time I tolerated it was when Joel asked me to pretend to marry him and kept putting his hands all over my back and on my hands (creepy...) Then, at the end of our "marriage" he was talking about how we might get intimate on the eve of our wedding. I'm 19 years old and had to tolerate this upon other humiliating acts in front of my aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, and grandmother!

Caution-my tour is not for everyone! I use improvisational comedy techniques that rely heavily on audience participation. As I say at the top of each tour, if you resist participation, I'm more likely to call on you. In the tour review attached, I had a large family group in which I involved adults, kids and even the 90+ year old grandma who insisted on taking pictures with me at the end of the tour! I would not characterize holding hands during a 30 second role play about newly weds in the 1880's as being 'creepy', but obviously one person did. Involving people in the narrative is also a professional and polite way to discourage guests from speaking at the same time as the guide and texting during the show which ruins the experience for the rest of the group. You may draw your own conclusion. One of the conclusions may be that this tour works best for people with a sense-of-humor.

We only had one full day at Niagara Falls, but I decided a walking tour would be better than a bus tour. Joel was funny and informative and had lots of knowledge of facts that I never knew before. Learned tidbits about the area and about Tesla and Edison that were interesting. Highly recommend this walking tour for all ages.

I scheduled Joel's walking tour to be my class' first experience with the falls. It was definitely a great way to start our trip! Joel was informative, while being extremely entertaining, energetic, and engaging. I agree with all of the reviews I read and would highly recommend this as a 'must' when visting Niagara.

We didn't have Joel, but we were more than happy with his colleague Gaelan, who was had a wealth of knowledge about Niagara Falls and made our short visit very memorable. The tour covered all the important things but wasn't "touristy". We felt very lucky to have such individual attention and the 4 hours just flew by. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to really learn about the history as well as experience all the thrills.

I've been to Niagara Falls before so I wasn't too sure of what to expect. I've never seen the fireworks display and I've lived in Buffalo most of my life. I was pleasantly surprised by this tour. Our tour guide, Joel, was humorous, knowledgeable, and incorporated his "followers" into the tour. He did his best to engage the minors in our group and really make history come alive for them!
