Interesting place

Nice that this building was saved from the wrecking ball. As the former Niagara Falls High School, it is now a center for artists, musicians, and local theatre. Several 'festivals' during the year add to its local interest and enjoyment.

My friend and I stopped here after doing a couple of things in the area of the falls. My friend LOVES art, I LIKE it enough to spend time looking at it. The building is SO interesting.............it takes me back to my school days because it was formerly Niagara Falls High School.

The Underground Railroad Exhibit is great!!! The BEYOND THE BARREL exhibit in the Townsend Gallery, which is presently on display is pretty good. I do not like modern or abstract art, so I was unable to relate to some of the paintings.

The highlight of our time there was meeting and talking with KELLY LANG BUCKLEY who is the Director of Development and Marketing. She is PASSIONATE about art and about the NACC. I would love to return for some of the events she told my friend and I about.

A Gem in Niagara Falls!
Jul 2017 • Friends
The Niagara Arts an Cultural Center, or "The NAC" as it is called by those who know it (pronounced 'nack')is the place and the concerted community effort that has turned the historic Niagara Falls High School building into a growing hub of local history, art, music, and more. From the Underground Railroad exhibit, to the woodworking and artisan shops, the history museum to the theater/auditorium hosting concerts and opera, it is also now the home of the Italian Vice Consulate, and so much more. Easy to find, it is on the route of The Niagara Scenic Trolley; it is a gem in the heart of Niagara Falls.
