Took a day trip with a friend to Newburgh, NY to explore Bannerman's Castle. Although there is an option to go on the island unguided during certain parts of the year, I definitely recommend the guided tour. The sight of this one impressive munitions factory...More

My family took the cruise and walking tour from Newburgh (it also leaves from Beacon). It is the same boat and the same experience regardless of which location you leave from. The Bannerman Castle website and the boat company website (Pride of the Hudson) offer...More

Overall this trip was very nice and a fun was to enjoy nature and historical sights. I wish more of the island would have been accessible to see. At times the tour was a little long-winded, but was very informative and overall enjoyed the entirety...More

We were enthralled with the entire experience! Our guide Wes was knowledgeable, personable, fun and professional. Highly recommend this activity, especially if you want some history of the Island, the family, the business and the Hudson River.

I took the Estuary Steward from Beacon, not Newburgh, but I believe it's basically the same trip. The tour was easy to book online, the directions provided were detailed (very important for someone coming from out of state who had never been to the area...More

Amazing experience. Beautiful views, astonishing ruins including the Bannerman's summer home, terrific, knowledgable volunteer guides, helpful ship crew, just the perfect day. Go earlier than we did. It was cloudy and very, very cold in mid-October. Late September could be ideal.

We love the Hudson Valley and the towns that reside along its banks. Our visit to Bannerman's Island was full of history. Easy to book and a wonderful ferry ride 20 minutes South of Beacon, NY. The crew on the ferry are very knowledgeable and...More

We went there on a weekend, it's a short boat ride to the island. The island itself is very small and you see a small castle on the island. I wouldn't say there is anything spectacular about the place. Good for a small getaway if...More
