This park is probably one of the best hiking spots on the East Coast. You can stay on the road paths or follow a more remote trail that gives you a chance to see off in the distance. The fall colors are just beginning to show and boy are they ever gorgeous. This is a huge park with many trails.... More

Extraordinarily beautiful scenic hiking, a must see if you are doing Autumn in NY. World class mountain climbing (for practice), great local restaurants and wineries/distilleries/breweries. New Paltz is close buy, its a fun little hippie college town. If you are willing to spend big money and get the full experience, reserve a night at the Mohonk Mountain House. If you... More

Though there is a $10 parking fee, it is well worth the fee! There is currently construction going on, for the roads there. You can park at the bottom and hike up, or park at the top for an easier hike. For avid hikers, this is not an ideal hike, as the paths are roads. At the top lies a... More

Especially when the weather's nice, there is no better place to go for a walk and enjoy the views. There are plenty of trails that all can enjoy and amazing views from all angles all around the lake. Plan for at least a couple of hours for a leisurely walk around the lake enjoying all the photo opportunities along the... More

Beautiful park and lake. Peaceful, relaxing. Please be mindful of nature there and keep it clean. We saw a bag of garbage lying near the water. Kindly pick up after yourselves per the park's rules.

The hike is a level 3 (so relatively easy) and the breathtaking views is well worth the hike. We loved our time here and would highly recommend it.

This place is beautiful nice flat trails for biking and hiking, you can also watch the rock climbers. You could spend hours on all the different trails.

Yesterday we ventured to the Minnewaska State Park Preserve situated on the dramatic Shawangunk Mountain ridge known as The Gunks which rises more than 2,000 feet above sea level and is surrounded by rugged, rocky terrain. After parking in the upper lot, we could view the towering Catskills to the north and listened to families speak several Asian, European and... More
