Loved it! This place is so beautiful. The summer view of this place is breath taking. The hiking is enjoyable especially along the lake. The water is so calm and clear, it's nature at its best. Even has a beach for you to swim in. At the top of the rocks, there is a beautiful meadow with table benches where... More

We visited here during a recent visit to New Paltz. We arrived later in the day on A Saturday and it was pleasantly uncrowded. Lots of trails to choose from and some lovely views. We got in a good workout after a long day of traveling so it was a great way to start out our trip!

This was a very pretty hike last month, perfect for my need to reflect on life, near a beautiful lake. Driving Directions Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 18 (New Paltz). After paying the toll, turn left onto Route 299 and continue west through the Village of New Paltz. When you cross the bridge over the Wallkill River... More

Breathtaking can be used for more than one area of our visit. We traveled up the mountain in hopes of riding bikes. Reality should have told me that mountain and bikes really means MOUNTAIN BIKES. We asked the gate keeper if you could ride bikes and she said yes the carriage paths were great for bikes. Reality is they should... More

We visited the park unbeknownst to us that the hotel burned down over twenty years ago. The lake is still gorgeous, the views outstanding. The trails are walker friendly. For a holiday weekend, it was not that busy. Fun day in the mountains!

Beautiful park with tons of different trails with beautiful views. The trail we picked was easy, some small inclines but mostly flat and gravel. Many picnic spots and restrooms dispersed through the trails.

Absolute beautiful vistas of the Hudson Valley. Many trails - carriage trails as well as foot paths - on which to walk, jog, bike, hike, or ride horses. Pet friendly! You can easily spend the entire day here.

The hiking here is great. There are many views of water and interesting rock formations yet it is very easy hiking. The only downside is that on holiday weekends it gets very crowded.

In this picturesque mountain area near New Paltz lies a park with many hiking trails and a large lake always in view plus one of the hikes brings you totally around it. The largest incline is 33 degrees and if you are out of shape, like myself, you may need to stop for two inutes every 150 yards. It is... More
