Kayaked from Deposit, NY to Dingman's Ferry, PA over 5 days. The river is beautiful for 85% of the 104 miles that we ran. The west branch (Deposit to Hancock) was nice, but there was a lot of "lake water"...paddling flat water with a headwind for 34 miles in one day was tough, but the only campground I could find... The Delaware river is a scenic and exciting place for a canoe, kayak, or raft trip. From Hancock to Narrowsburg we saw possibly 20 eagles, many geese and Mergansers, some beaver, deer grazing in the shallows. If possible schedule midweek and you can have the river to yourself.

I loved looking at the river and the bridges that crossed the river. We viewed quite a bit of wildlife around the river, which included whitetailed deer, wild turkeys, a fox, a skunk, red tailed hawks and a nesting pair of bald eagles with two babies in the nest. We drove over 70 miles of the river looking for unique... More

The Upper Delaware River is stunning and there are so many activities you can soak in while you're visiting - kayaking, canoeing, and hiking are just a few. The water is clean and the air is fresh. There are hundreds of acres to hike on too!

Plenty of nature photo options. From the rivers, rocks, trees, open plain areas, parks, and bridges.

The scenic byway along the eastern bank of the Delaware River is stunning, with the road running very close to the river many points and high above it at others. We traveled the length of the byway during foliage season, and it was one of our most memorable drives. The small park at the site of the Delaware-Hudson Canal is... More

This is a picturesque, idyllic, peaceful piece of nature only 2 1/2.hours from NYC. Cool your feet at many public access points in the Delaware River in both NY and PA. The sights are wondrous and included landscapes that are breathtaking, the Roebling bridge that preceded the Brooklyn bridge, The Zane Grey house, bear, deer, wild turkey, porcupines, skunks, raptors... I live very close to the Delaware River and it is a beautiful pristine sight to behold on a nice sunny day! One can go canoeing or kayaking during the summer months, watch the geese and other wildlife while on the river.

The Upper Delaware area has so much to offer. Hiking, Rafting, Canoeing and so much more! The scenic byway (Route 97)has some breathtaking spots - especially the Hawks Nest - just north of Port Jervis. The foliage in the fall is spectacular. You can sometimes see bear, deer, fox, and bald eagles along the way. The Roebling Bridge (the oldest... More
