My husband and I visited Shadmoor State Park on a Friday. The parking lot was small but we had no problems finding a space. (Parking was free.) The trail was easy and had beautiful views of the ocean and bluffs.

Pretty, light woodsy hike, and then fantastic views. I love this vegetation along the edge. Reminds me of Big Sur a bit. Mind the signs and stay away from the cliff edge. Rocks can be loose and we shouldn't contribute to erosion. There is a sandy path to the beach if you just keep walking towards Ditch Plains.…

Hike Shadmoor’s wooded trails and end up with magnificent views of the ocean high up on the bluffs. Will even stumble upon a lookout post from WWII.

Don't miss this when in Montauk! Great history & beautiful scenery! Very well marked with excellent explanation. Continuing on the black dot trail past the Roosevelt Run can bring you to Ditch Plains Beach full of roaring waves & surfers (residents only allowed at the beach parking lot). This morning we saw 100s of dogs playing on the beach! Trails open for dog walkers & mountain bikes.…
