Went here on a whim and was so glad we did. The walk takes you along the ocean and thru some nice trails. There are two bunkers standing from war times that soldiers would watch for invaders from. So theres some history here. Roosevelt walked thru here as well. Along the ocean path youll see amazing bluffs that are incredible.... More

We walked there along a lovely trail above the hoodoos. It's very picturesque. The beach is nice escpecially if you are a surfer.

Favorite spot in Montauk! Panoramic view in all directions. Was saved from development approximately 15 years ago.

Beautiful views. Nice trails. Climb down a cliff to get to the beach. The "hike" to the bluff was not that taxing. If you are properly dressed it seems like a leisurely stroll. When you get to the bluffs they have a barrier, an easy to get over barrier. I saw a few people descend the steep bluffs and I... More

Great for a short hike with few narrow trails. Beautiful view of the ocean from the bluffs. Otherwise, you can hike up to a WWll bunker on the hill which you can't enter but it makes for an interesting place to visit.

We biked here then walked on trails to the beach. Good for a not too strenuous trail walk. The views over the beach were great.

This is an easy hike that takes you past some bunkers and through natural vegetation to a cliff that overlooks the ocean and from which you can see the adjacent neighborhoods. It's level and probably about a mile round trip. The view is fantastic and worth your hour or so.

Went there after being disappointed about the lighthouse price. So glad I did!! The bluff views didn't disappoint. It was so worth the ten minute walk and it was free!!

Took a walk around the trails for a while. Interesting WWII concrete structures (gunner outposts most likely).

My husband and I visited Shadmoor State Park on Labor Day weekend (2015). There is a trailhead right off Montauk highway about 3.5 miles from the lighthouse. A short trail leads to the bluffs along the beach which were beautiful! You don't feel like you are on Long Island! Be careful there are tick postings everywhere. Stay on the main... More
