We had never been to Montauk and planed a 3 day stay. It was oppressively hot and humid. So I knew I would get overheated walking to the top, but figured i would stand outside on top and cool off. To my surprise you cant get outside and have one little doorway with bars stopping you. Its big enough for... More

It's been years since we visited the lighthouse and we were surprised to discover how much time we spent there. Take your time and walk down to the water, talk to the interesting docent in the museum, and explore the rest of the grounds. There is a nice picnic area, playground, and restrooms near the parking lot. One warning -... More

We climbed the steps for the view. The guys explained the history of the place brilliantly. Beautifully kept and stunning views. A lovely morning. Thanks all.

If you are traveling on the south fork of Long Island, Montauk Point is a natural destination, being as Far East as you can go on LI. There is a nice beach, playground, gift shop and restrooms. There is no charge after 4:00 pm. In the past you could watch surfers at the point, but there is no longer surfing... More

We had a very pleasant and enjoyable visit to the Lighthouse at Montauk Point. Montauk Point is very lovely with beautiful views. We also went to the top of the Lighthouse and enjoyed the view from up there.
