We were given tickets on the steamboat as a gift. Our reservations were for departure from the Chautauqua Institute bell tower. As it turned out we chose to leave from the Mayville boarding dock. Be aware that there is no vehicle parking in the Chautauqua...More

I took a friend to introduce her to Chautauqua last weekend, showing her the sights, visiting wineries, and we were going to cap off the day with the 5 p.m. sailing of the Chautauqua Belle. If you look at their website, it very clearly states...More

Thoroughly enjoyed our nostalgic steam boat road on the Chautauqua Belle. Crew was great and narrative that was presented provided a nice balance of history on the northern part of the lake. Felt like you really stepped back in time.

What a great day on Chautauqua Lake aboard the Belle! We were awed upon hearing the story about the purchase and refurbishing of the Belle put together by an 18 year old and his family! The historical information about the lake area and steamboat travel...More

We loved the authentic river boat recordings and Matt's detailed narrative of all things Chautauqua and steamboat. Your experience will be as good as the weather allows. We had a glorious day! Highly recommend this unique ride back in time on one of the few...More

It’s a lovely way to gawk at all the houses and scenery around the lake. My mom got a bit queasy from the wakes of other boats so we recommend motion sickness meds for those that suffer it. Otherwise it was a great day.

Even though we were visiting the area off season, it was a particularly warm beautiful fall weekend and we learned they were doing a final Saturday afternoon boat tour. We rearranged our plans and were able to take this leasurely ride around the lake. It...More

Nice afternoon (about 1-1/2 hours) on the Chautauqua Belle Steamboat. Service was good, friendly staff. Plenty of seats to stay upstairs. The only negative I can offer for our trip was that the history of the lake and area was not "synched" with where the...More

We are so glad to hear that you had a great time. Some of the narration is specific to certain areas of the lake. Since we have just started going in and out of the Bemus Point dock and we are adding more docks each...More

I'm sure they told us during the narration but I don't remember. I don't see this information on their web site or Facebook page, but they imply that it started the cruises around 2009. You could email them.
