The massapequa preserve has a walking trail/bike path that is serene with beautiful idea of the lake and foliage. I walked it today to experience the Autumn leaves and foliage.

Since the trail is so beautiful and open to so many activities and age groups, it needs some thoughtful tweaking to keep it safe. You have avid bike riders as well as tots with training wheels sharing a two lane strip of blacktop around 6 ft wide. I used to take my grandchild there regularly but have stopped because of witnessing accidents between bikers and walkers.
Parents please be cautious with your children...bikers please slow down and use the north end in Bethpage where it is a little less populated.

These wooded preserves keep us aware of the natural world around us: water birds, owls, snakes, turtles are there. Seasons change and our awareness is awakened.

I rode my bike through the preserve, and overall I think that the preserve is a beautiful addition to Massapequa.

Best place to ride/jog! Now that spring is here I live on this trail. When The weather warms up I’ll bring my kids out with me to ride.

I explored Massapequa Preserve for the first time last month and I was not disappointed. It was a very chilly day so I couldn't walk around that much but saw lots of waterfowl and it was beautiful! I recommend hiking boots since it is very rustic! Look forward to going back in warmer weather!

i just love this place.i found it one day by getting a hot dog on the side of the road and saw the opening to go in.Then someone told me it goes all the way into bethpage state park. we packed our bikes and started excercising in there. Its a bird preserve as well, peaceful and paved trails, really nice. If you ride your bike all the way through its quite the challenge at times, because as you go over the parkways, you really have to get a good head start if you want to make it to the top! Its peaceful if you want to walk as well.It gets dark in there, you are all surrounded by trees, so i wouldnt recomend it at night. A lot of teens hang out and drink back there,so be careful if you do.Nothing good comes out of that. overall beautiful place just to walk and clear your mind

This is a peaceful enclave in the midst of suburban sprawl. I took a quiet, meditative walk..with my earbuds in and the beautiful scenery you forget that just within reach lies all the hustle and bustle. When the weather warms up I want to try the green belt trail! For now a meandering walk along the paved road surrounded by trees and water was just want the Dr. ordered. Enjoy!

Nice nature preserve. Has fishing. Rare birds on Lake. Only bad thing is too many weeds in the water.

The Massapequa Preserve is beautiful in the spring! There are always swans around the lake and ducks on the stream. I highly recommend riding your bike, running, or walking to or around the preserve!
