My husband surprised me with a flight, on July 20. Tom was our pilot, and as we arrived, he had a sign up saying no flights until 4 pm, due to wind issues. It was 3:45, so we asked if we could go up. Yes!! We flew over Long Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, and could see so many lakes, which he named, as well as the surrounding and afar mountains! We saw recent tornado damage, a hanging bog of peat in another area and Tom gave us so much info as far as where to look and what we were seeing, in detail. He clearly loves what he is doing and it shows. It was such a great experience! Reasonably priced at $80 pp, as well. I cannot recommend him and this business enough. We flew with them about 10 years ago and loved it then, too. What a wonderful way to see just how much is around you when you are in Long Lake, and the Adirondacks! We will return. Thanks, Tom! Brian and Michelle.

When you first see the plane at the dock and meet Bob, our pilot, you may feel like you are stepping into a movie set. The plane is small, 6 people are tight if you are a bigger person, but it was awesome. Wonderful views, great narration by Bob, although hard to hear from the back seat with the noise of the plane. For those who are hesitant, the takeoff and landing were very smooth.

We stopped at Long Lake NYS on a day's drive through the Adirondack Mountains. Seeing 2 sea planes moored, I asked if they did short charter flighths - they did, and could go right way. What a fantastic experience - Bill the pilot was great, the views of lakes and fantastic fall colours were spectacular, including the Buttermilk Falls and beaver dams. And all this for a minium charge of $80 fort he 2 of us - incredible value for money also. We have sea planed before in The Maldives but still found this trip wonderful. The highlight of our 2 1/2 weks in New England - thanks guys, I wear the T-shirt with pride and very good memeories. Thoroughly recommended.

My family, freinds and I have flown sightseeing trips and camping trips with three generations of the Helms family. The views are spectacular and Tom Helms knows his mountains better than anyone. If you camp or fish, he can steer you in the right direction. For a quick aerial tour of the region, take the 20-minute tour. Its out of this world. I suggest the High Peaks.

Highly recommend! Fly over several of my favorite places in the world. Takes me way back... Flew on the same plane I took my sons on about 28-29 years ago. It was then when one of my sons knew he wanted to be a pilot!
Now he is, and the odd thing... he flies all over the world, and we catch up by phone randomly when he is available...
Magically, he called me while I was up in the plane from a completely different timezone!
Lots of love,
Millie

This was such a fun thing to do, a unique activity that really added to our great visit to the wonderful Adirondacks. Tom is an informative and interesting pilot who took us on a spectacular tour, we all loved it. Great value for the ride and we love the T shirts too!

A few friends took a seaplane ride with Helms Aero Service over Labor Day weekend and it was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday! Tom Helms was our pilot and he is so knowledgeable about the scenery -- in addition to many water bodies and mountainsides, we saw out to Vermont and New Hampshire. We flew on a gorgeous blue sky day and enjoyed the experience tremendously. Definitely a trip worth taking!

My son in law and friend flew into a remote lake to fish using Helms Aero Service. The pilot was very friendly and knowledgeable of the entire area. They do fly in hunt trips and scenic trips. The cost is very affordable and the views are beautiful. So worth the time and money.

It was a gorgeous day when we flew. Bob is our pilot with his blue Cessna plane. The plane can only take total 6 persons (1 pilot + 5 passengers). There is a minimum of $90 per flight. Fee: $40 per adult, children ages 13 and under $20 per person.

He took us over Buttermilk falls and flew 3x over our campsite, saw our tent, coolers even our lawn chairs clearly. The plane was flown very low. He joked that we could see a thief at our site.

Then we went over to the fire tower at Owl Head, the 5000-acres-cedarland scout site, Lake Eaton, Long Lake. He pointed us at Mt. Marcy, the triangle peak. He explained to us how the beavers damaged the forest.

Bob said that it is very beautiful in the fall, we are so tempted to go again to see the leaves change color.

It was a seaplane ride of a lifetime. Really nice
