I Enjoyed this museum. Modern art. On a Friday night its free.! Saw modern but also traditional art. Starry night of Van Gogh was awesome to see. Amazing how many famous works are in this museum. You can also get a bite to eat here at reasonable prices

A world class museum in an unpretentious part of nyc. Cool. Cool. Cool. Worth a day trip by ferry then stop at Lic flee for a tasty bite or eat in their fabulous cafe. Always interesting exhibits in a spacious, creative environment.

I've been to MOMA PS1 twice, and both exhibits had scary/upsetting sounds emanating from scary old basement spaces. This place is for the psychologically-resilient. The cafe had excellent service and tasty food. PS1 is a good first stop after landing at Laguardia. The coat check will handle your suitcase.

MOMA PS 1 is a converted school to art museum in Long Island City, just one stop from Midtown Manhattan on the 7 train or on the N or Q. Its mission is contemporary art so for some viewers , this type of art may be less accessible or inviting. we saw a wonderful show by a collective called Kiosk.... More

Stopped in for a brief visit. Some parts of the museum were closed while new exhibitions were being installed. The building itself is really interesting -- it still definitely feels like a former inner city school, with a lot of its unique architecture and character intact. We discovered we are not really modern art lovers. My 15 year old son... More

I love coming here for the building, and sometimes the art is as good as the building (an old school with high ceilings and lots of room). Sometimes it is all bad, sometimes 80% good, but there is such a lot of space, there is going to be something to enjoy. Make an afternoon of it and eat in the... More

PS 1 is such a great place, it started about 30 plus years ago to offer a place to local artists and non mainstream artists a place to exhibit and studio space to do their work. It has been taken over my Moma and has changed a bit but still showcases edgy and interesting work. Happenings on first Saturdays. Youthful,... More

We visited in the afternoon. There is so much more to this museum than I imagined. We were there for two hours and got through fewer than half the exhibits; So many are interactive and take time to process. There also was some performance art the day we were there. This is an interesting museum with progressive works. It might... More

This semi-decade's "Greater New York" show ends March 7th. As long as you can climb up and down (many) stairs, this is really worth seeing. It's always eye-opening to see what's going on with the tres au courant artistes, but this show is particularly interesting because they have presented both current very new artists with more established artists, to produce...
