Silver Thread Vineyard creates expressive, age-worthy wines in harmony with nature. Our boutique winery and sustainably-managed vineyard are located on the east side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Small production ensures the greatest care and highest quality in every bottle of our wine.We specialize in Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer that reflect the unique terroir of the Finger Lakes. Although our wines are styled for the dry wine consumer, semi-dry wine drinkers will also find wines they enjoy. Our tasting room, located off the beaten path, provides breathtaking views and an opportunity to contemplate wine in a quiet, natural setting. We look forward to sharing our love of wine with you.

We prefer the small intimate wineries and this one was perfect. The owners grow their grapes without commercial pesticides and sprays if at all possible. Their wines were amazing especially the rieslings, but all were very good.

Off Route 414 half a mile -- and on the small gravel roads I like to follow in the east side of Lake Seneca -- the building is secluded and offers a wonderful view. The owners are very personable and it is clear that Paul is improving as a winemaker as he learns the special characteristics of the Rieslings in... More

This smaller winery is tucked away down a gravel road about a half mile off of route 414. The view from the deck is amazing. This trip was our third visit to Silver Thread. All three times, we had a delightful conversation and tasting with the owner, Shannon. She and her husband take immense pride in their wines, the production... More

Shannon, one of the owners was a sheer delight! She walked my husband through a reisling tasting while the rest of our group enjoyed glasses of wine on the back deck, sitting at a gorgeous hand milled bar shaded by grapevines. We left with several bottles in hand and we'll be back!

Drive down here to the tasting room was nice, it is closer to the lake than most. $5 for a taste of 5 wines, but we were not enamored of most of them. We did buy two bottles before we left but they still charged us a $3 tasting fee. Most places waive the fee if you buy some wine.... More

Shannon & Paul Brock have done an outstanding job of making stellar wines! We are always welcomed by one of the owners or an experienced tasting room employee with leisurely tastings or wine/cheese/ chocolate pairings. And there is always time to answer questions share vineyard stories. Worth the visit if you're in the area!

Happened to see the sign driving through Finger Lakes wine area and are we glad we did! Not on any of the maps, but what a great place! Owned by a husband and wife, we were fortunate to have Shannon(the wife-lol!) as our host. Very engaging and informative and the wines were incredible! A must stop if you are in... More

Most of the wineries we went to were just ok but this one was different. Great staff, nice site and decent wines. Not usually a white wine drinker but their Rieslings were very good. Did 5 tastings with chocolate for around 5 dollars, they had other flight options too and the best thing about this winery, you can order wine... More

My husband and I absolutely love this winery. We stumbled across it a few years back during our annual wine tour. It is down a long, winding, rocky road. You pass the vineyards along the way and are rewarded with a one-of-a-kind tasting room, which overlooks Seneca. The owners just purchased this winery in 2011. They have made great strides... More

This is one of my favorite wineries. It has a fabulous view of the Glenora lake, surrounded by green land. You can meet the owner there, they are such nice people. And their wine is great. It's a must go.
