I honestly don’t know if I buy into the whole “salt having healing properties” deal or if I believe in the “releases toxins” line, but I liked the feeling of being in the dimly lit salt cave & getting my hand massage. I had just finished reading The Clan of the Cave Bear, so I spent a lot of time imagining what it might have been like to live in a cave & how I would organize the lay out. Is that weird? The LMT Jen was wonderful as were the other staff members. I may check out their other services, like the red light therapy. If you like self-care projects, definitely add this to your list.

Went to the Salt Den in the fall of 2017 to check out the therapeutic salt caves. It was a unique place, clean, quiet with a less than effusive staff. The session was relaxing and calming. I settled into a low beach chair that was set in a dark cavernous room with glowing salt rock walls and gravel type stones under my bare feet. Lights twinkled like stars above and rushing water sounds played softly while a faux fire glowed in the front of the room. I settled back, closed my eyes and breathed deeply while a fine salt mist filled the air. It really was reminiscent of being at the ocean. About an hour later, I emerged refreshed and renewed and vowed to return again with a group of friends. Unfortunately I experienced inner ear issues from the session so I have not returned. I do not recommend this experience if you have any pressure or sensitivity in your ears. It took several months for the pressure in my ears to stabilize. If I ever return, I will wear protective headphones. Otherwise, I do recommend this therapeutic experience.

A Large Himalayan Salt cave for inhalation and relaxation. We arrived 15 minutes ahead of our reservation to be greeted by a knowledgeable staff member so we could give our information. Our group of 6 people were shown to our gravity loungers and given a blanket. Soothing music played as we let go of the outside world for approximately 50 minutes. The warmth of the cave helped lull you into complete relaxation.

NOT a place you want to go. They tried ruining my birthday celebration by lying and telling me my appointment for 5 ladies was for an hour after it was booked for. Not true. I am a professional event planner who confirmed the appointment 2 days prior. We took their offer to return at the next hour and take the entire room since there were no other bookings. We drove nearby to lunch and called from the car to say we will be exactly 5 minutes late but had our forms filled. They said no, there was another walk-in person and they won't take us, but could wait ANOTHER hour! We already drove 120 miles to get there and their original booking mistake screwed up our itinerary. We arrived 5 minutes late and the receptionist had major attitude and said someone already started "the session". It's a relaxing salt cave not a Harvard lecture.

That receptionist should not be working at a place that is suppose to relieve stress and be detoxing. She even sarcastically told us to "have a nice daaaaay" upon us leaving. I was glad to hear that my 45 year old friend stayed behind and told her to basically grow up and learn about customer service. The receptionist's toxic behavior did NOT deter us from having a great day.

We were saved by Adirondack Salt Cave in Glen Falls instead. They were the complete opposite by being genuine, kind, accommodating and hugged all 5 of the guests in my group. GO TO ADIRONDACK SALT CAVE and have the best time ever! Don't bother stopping at this place in Latham.

Took my daughter on a 96 degree day as I had a 2-for-1 coupon. I booked a couple weeks ahead of time and we ended up being the only two in the salt cave, which was perfect. We brought sweats and there were blankets that we used. Hard to think of wearing sweats on a 96deg day but definitely needed. Was very relaxing and I will go again. My hair seems to have a nice texture since we went and that was only after going one time. She brought a book that she was able to read but I wouldn’t have been able to with the dim lighting, but I didn’t care. After we laughed for a while I dozed off briefly. It was very relaxing and if that’s all that was accomplished it was worth it!

Sauna (45 min) and salt den (50 min) were energizing and relaxing at the same time. Make sure to call ahead and arrive early because the salt den (especially) tends to fill up ... we got there 5 min late and the door shuts on the hour so that others aren't disturbed. We grabbed lunch at the nearby bakery and were back for the next hour. Worth the wait. Great new addition to the area. Awesome experience. We'll be back!

Yesterday was my first visit to the Salt Den. My friend and I tried the salt cave and the infrared sauna. I felt great after the experience and look forward to doing it again. Maybe next time a massage or some red light therapy? Hmmmm...

I received a fantastic massage from Jen who took time to understand what I needed. The salt cave is amazing! Beautiful, calming, relaxing. It gets quite cool in there, so dress appropriately. They provide light blankets. Nicole was great - courteous, knowledgable and accommodating. I will definitely go back!

Very very relaxing. My adult daughter and I enjoyed our visit. The staff answered all our questions & were polite and kind. If you are a person who chills easily bring sox & a sweater as it is cool in the cave. I run warm but my daughter would have liked sox. They do provide a blanket. Can't wait to go back & try the other services.
