Tropical Island covered almost half with palm oil plantations

Biggest island of the Ssese Island group. Ferry from Entebbe to Kalangala. Easy to reach. Very safe and local experience.

Buggala Island is an amazing place with amazing views of the lake from incredible angles. The palm plantations are also an interesting site. This island is also host to some amazing lodges.

We travelled with our friend and found the island to be very quite and peaceful. There are many lodges around , specially at the fairy docking area. Most of them are bacis but good and comfortable. Visiting the island by foot or driving a boda boda around the place is fun. Small town where u can buy the basic items... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Buggala Island, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We would not have discovered so many gorgeous, unspoiled places if it wasn't for happening upon the Sesse Island Tour Guides Association (SITGA) situated off Lutoboka Dock. We did a motorbike tour, and had such a fantastic time we went back the... More

I had a guided tour with Jackson. We visited the John, Speke point, went for canoeing. We were struck by the beauty of the Islands. Jackson is very knowledgeable. We listened as he relieved the history of the islands. The nature walks were very refreshing. We'll definetely come back here.

beautiful Island with lots of opportunity to explore. very basic in amenities but enough to enjoy. Some of the Hotels can be recommended but remember that is Uganda and not Europe. Wildlife and especially the birds are spectacular. The Sesse Islands Tourist Guide Association (SITGE) located near the ferry dock has recently starting up and offer a tour, excursions, walks... i hated traveling on road and short distance ferry because the ferry from Entebbe had broken down. And it was more traumatising in the boat beacause the weather was windy n rainy.

This island is really quiet and relaxing. I stayed at Islands Club but spent time in the evening at Pearl Gardens and Mirembe. It's 2 hours from Entebbe but is a good choice after travelling around Uganda, if you just want some well deserved peace and quiet!
