We (Father with two teenagers) headed of to a nine day private Safari in Uganda to see the Gorillas. And we did not get disappointed, we spent an hour with them, an amazing experience.
However, we where surprised and charmed by the overall Safari experience we had. Wildlife in abundance (organised between the different parcs) and close up - a lot on foot. So Uganada is not only a Gorilla and Schimpanzee destination, but big 5 country. Lots of elephants, hippos (grazing), buffalo, giraffes, white rhinos (in a sanctuary but not to be missed), lions, leopards, gorillas, schimpanzees, etc., etc.
The lodges were good and authentic (Mwyea your Out of Africa lodge, Paraa nicely on the NIle River bank, Kimbali Forest Camp a mid-range absolute fair value, Rushuga Gorilla Camp and luxury Kimbari Lodge), food well prepared and people very kind and accomodating.
Our trip was organised by Tuable Safari. Jamal was our local guide and driver. Excellent Safari vehicle, very knowledgable guide. There was a mix-up with one of the lodges, but it got sorted out. The organisation was spot on and I can highly recommend the tour operator.
Due to the cost of the gorilla and schimpanzee permits Uganda is not a cheap Safari destnation, but absolutely worthwile. Overall you find a top offering at a fair price.

Safari Tour for 10-Days Uganda Wildlife and
Primates Safari with Lake Tour
I contact about 30 different companies before I found Tubale. I went with them due to their itinerary being the same to other companies but for a much more affordable price. I am so happy I found them!! Annette was my online co tact person and she was very quick to respond and helpful with all of my pre planning questions.
My trip (solo trip) with Tubale and guide Samuel (Sam) was flawless/perfect from start to finish. Sam was an exceptional guide who truly made this an unforgettable experience. His expertise in each national park, the roads/ driving , sharing so much knowledge about the safari animals, country and culture were of true value. Request him as your guide, you will not regret it.
We visited multiple national parks seen countless wildlife. My chimpanzee trek and gorilla trek were amazing! 10/10 I would recommend them both. They are a must while visiting Uganda. Participating in village/community walks was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend participating, additional that money goes directly to the locals.
All of the hotels/lodges that were apart of the tour were great. We also stood 1 night at a women’s hotel called Ride 4 woman which helps provide woman of the community a job and teaches them life skills. The 4x4 truck transport was comfortable and great for safari exploring.

6-Days Gorilla Trekking and White Water Rafting Safari Tour
In June of 2023 I contacted Tubale Safaris regarding information about a tour that was offered for visiting the mountain gorillas and rafting on the White Nile River. My contact, Annette, was most helpful and patient, considering I was booking a tour a year in advance. Arrangements were confirmed even though I could not even book airfares yet! In May 2024 as my husband and I sat at the airport in Johannesburg awaiting our flight to Uganda, I discovered the flight had been cancelled. After making flight changes, I tried to contact Annette to adjust tour changes for Uganda. She was able to do this and all worked out great!
Our guide, Brian, met us at the airport in Entebbe and we began our tour. Annette had arranged wonderful accomodations throughout our stay in Uganda. After arriving, we drove to past Kampala to Jinja and had an evening boat cruise on Lake Victoria, to include the headwaters of the Nile River. This was a peaceful float along the shoreline to enjoy the scenery and do a little birding. The next day we rafted on the White Nile River…our trip was advertised as an adventure experience and that it was: wet, wild, and white water! Don’t miss this experience. Annette met us at the raft office in the morning to wish us a safe journey and then we were off for an adventure filled day. At the end of the rafting trip our group, together with all of the rafting guides, were treated with drinks and BBQ to celebrate our fun day. If you ever have opportunity, take a trip with White Nile River Rafting. It was a grand experience!
The next day we were off to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to have our gorilla experience. It is a full day’s drive but the scenery along the way is beautiful. The accommodation in the park is first class. The following day was our walk to see the gorillas. After the short orientation, we only had a 45 minute walk before the trackers had us sitting with these magnificent animals. We spent an hour with them. The young gorillas were very playful, tumbling all over. Spending time with these creatures is a special life experience!
While it was a quick visit to Uganda, I would encourage all to visit the “Pearl of Africa”. The countryside is lush; the various cultures and traditions were most interesting; and the people were very friendly. I also must say that our guide, Brian, was a jewel. He was so well informed about his country and its history, as well as the various ethnic groups and their respective cultures. He also spoke 5 languages! Brian had done research with the gorillas as part of his guide licensing program so he was able to provide detailed information about the gorillas He shared so much with us and was an integral part of our enjoyment of Uganda!

Incredible experience getting up close and personal with the gorillas. A great mix of primate trekking, birding and other wildlife watching including tree-climbing lions. Tubale were very obliging and quick to respond to our changes to the itinerary. The minibus was comfortable as were most of the lodges. Highest praise goes to our guide and driver, Eric Kamoga, who went out of his way to arrange local guides for birding in areas he was less familiar with. A highlight was being taken to a swamp by a local guide to see a shoebill. He tolerated my endless questions with good humour and we enjoyed some interesting discussions!

I did the 10-day program, with mountain gorilla observation as the main attraction. It was fabulous! It fully met my best expectations.
If anyone is interested in unforgettable Safaris, and wonderful photographs and videos, I recommend Tubale Safaris.
In particular, the guide Brian couldn't have been better! Very very good!
The person in charge Anette was also always impeccable. I recommend!

Just got back from the most incredible 10-day wildlife and primate tour in Uganda with Tubale Safaris, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough—especially our guide, Brian.
From the moment we met him, Brian went above and beyond to make sure our trip was unforgettable. His knowledge of wildlife (and Uganda in general) is insane—he’s basically a walking encyclopedia. But beyond that, he’s just an all-around amazing person. Super friendly, welcoming, and always making sure we were comfortable and having the best time.
Every single day exceeded our expectations. Whether it was tracking gorillas, spotting lions and countless leopards, or just chatting about life in Uganda, Brian made everything feel special. He’s a true expert at what he does, and we feel so lucky to have had him as our guide for these 10 incredible days.
Also, a massive shoutout to Annette and the Tubale team—the whole booking process was smooth, and everything was so well-organized from start to finish. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We had booked a 9-day safari. Even beforehand, Anette was super helpful with the planning, always responded immediately, and it was even possible to end our safari in Kigali, Rwanda. A really great preparation.
We spent our safari itself with our guide Isaac. It was an incredible experience. We were able to see the Big Five within two days on our game drives, and the gorilla and chimpanzee trekking was an incredibly great experience as well. Isaac contributed to making it an unforgettable experience. He was incredibly concerned about our well-being, explained everything to us, and was in such a good mood that it was always contagious. In the evenings, we sat together, and he told us a lot about the country and its people, making it feel like sitting with a good friend. Even when I forgot my airpods in one of our hotels, he organized it, that someone drove them back to our current hotel (200km away). If you get Isaac as your guide, it will definitely be an unforgettable tour!
All in all, we really got to know Uganda as the Pearl of Africa. Should we come to Uganda again, then gladly with Tubale Safaris again.

I absolutely enjoyed my first trip to Uganda (and Africa!) with Tubale Safaris! After comparing different tour companies, I picked Tubale not only because it was one of the more reasonably priced ones but also because Annette was very responsive and helpful! For my 5-day safari excursion and city tour, Jamal my guide was fabulous! He was knowledgeable, friendly and took care of a lot of details for me, which eased my concerns as a first time (and solo) traveler to Africa! Jamal also gave me great suggestions and options along the way which allowed me to have an experience which is truly personalized. I cannot recommend them enough - can’t wait to go back and visit with more family members and friends!

Thanks for an amazing 14-day Uganda safari and gorilla trekking trip. Everything has been meticulously organized by Mrs Annette, she was very quickly to respond and to adjust the itinerary as requested.
My driver, Arafat, was also amazing and very knowledgeable, if you have a chance, ask for him to be your guide. I definitely recommend Tubale and will use their services again when I come to Uganda/East Africa.

Tubale safaris put together a wonderful 7-day safari for us including Rhino tracking, Murchison falls national park, Kibale Forest and Bwindi impenetrable national park. Annette was extremely through and helpful with organising and communication and our guide Herman was so very lovely and knowledgeable (especially on the bird life). Our whole experience was one of the most enjoyable in our travels and we could not recommend Tubale safaris and their amazing staff more for their amazing dedication to provided a lifetime experience.
