We are a family owned safari company offering responsible safari experiences in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.
Over the decades, we have explored with thousands of guests in the gorilla highlands and savanna grasslands. Top safari activities are gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, rhino trekking, game drives, walking safaris, boat safari cruises on the Nile, fishing and birding and more.

I absolutely love this company! Daudi was an amazing tour director! He was able to answer any questions we had for him. He has such a heart for the people and animals of Uganda and it shows in everything he did for us.
He took the greatest care for our safety and he made sure we got the most out of our experience. I would give them a 10 out of 10!

The Safari with Butuu was really well organized. We had a great driver, the program was very good (we went to Murchison Falls on the first day). We saw so many animals 🤩
The lodge and the people were a dream, we felt very safe and welcome.

What an incredible experience we had with Buutu Safaris. Our guides were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. They took us to see some beautiful places and in doing so we saw lots of wild animals. HIGHLY recommend using this awesome company.

Fabulous tour company and safari guides. All of our guides were friendly and very knowledgeable! Fabulous group with which to see Murchinson Falls National Park and Budongo Forest! Highly, highly recommend😊!!!

What a wonderful experience in Uganda. Travelling with Buutu Safaris we were looked after above and beyond. The whole trip was without a hiccup and I cannot recommend them enough if you are considering a trip to Uganda. The Gorillas were the highlight but the rest of Uganda is amazing with so much to see and do. My only complaint would be that I did not stay longer. Will be returning again.

I have known Daudi, owner of Buutu, for nearly 10 years and he has organised many trips for me across Uganda (Murchison Falls, Lake Bunyonyi, Sipi falls, Jinja, Nile) as well as East Africa. For the most recent trip to see the Gorillas in Bwindi, Daudi and Lincoln really went extra mile to craft the trip itinerary around my logistical requirements and location/accommodation preferences.
What makes Butuu different is the people. They have an amazing set of safari drivers and a big shout out to the Amazing Ojok, who is like family to me after spending another week together on the road. He never disappoints, looked after us so well and he’s also a leopard whisperer.
Outside of $700 /$750 gorilla permit (bucket list item) the overall trip cost for a week full board on safari represents amazing value for money.
Other considerations: enquire about internal flights between Entebbe and SW (Bwindi), if not on a budget it could be good option to do the return leg by flight to save a full day of travel on road.

My mom and I did a 7 day safari with Buutu Safaris in September and had a wonderful time. We went to Murchison Falls, Bwindi (for gorilla trekking), and Lake Bunyonyi. Our guides, Tony and Ojok, were great--safe drivers, knowledgeable guides, and great to chat with during our week of travels. Tony helped us see lions, leopards, elephants, and more in Murchison Falls Park. Ojok helped us get into the right gorilla trekking group at Ruhija, with the best trek/closest gorillas for my mom (who is 70 years old). I only found out I would be traveling to Uganda with about a month's notice, so I was really impressed that Buutu Safaris was able to arrange such an amazing trip for us with relatively little notice. We stayed in comfortable accommodations (with good food). Lincoln and Daodi in the main office were really easy to communicate with, and helped us with any questions we had. On top of all this, Buutu Safaris is a locally-owned company, so you know your tourism dollars are staying in Uganda, which is important for anyone looking to travel ethically these days. Can't recommend them enough, and if I have the opportunity to travel in Uganda again, I would 100% contact Buutu Safaris.

We had an incredible trip thanks to Buutu Safari and I would definitely recommend them to everyone! As a family of 4 with 2 young girls, travelling can sometimes be stressful but thanks to Lincoln for all his organisation, communication and care everything went smoothly and we had a wonderful experience in beautiful Uganda. Our itinerary was planned specific to our requirements and the accommodation booked was fantastic. Our guide, Moses, was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly and organised and we feel very lucky to have met him. Our 2 girls loved him so much, they cried when we left Uganda! Thank you Buutu Safaris for a life-changing experience.

There are really no adequate words to describe my time on safari with Daudi, The Amazing Ojok, and Buutu Safaris. From the moment we landed in Entebbe, they had everything taken care of - transportation, food, activities, accommodations, everything was thought of ahead of time. Daudi's passion for wildlife conservation and responsible tourism is undeniable; his heart is in this business for the right reasons. He shared invaluable knowledge with us, always ready with an answer to our questions. Our lodging was wonderful. Every place we stayed was clean, safe, and SO welcoming and friendly. The food was incredible, and very much enjoyed after game drives and gorilla trekking! Ojok found us just about every animal you can imagine, from monitor lizards all the way up to the big cats. It was a surreal experience, from beginning to end. You will not regret booking your trip with Buutu Safaris.

Thank you so much Lauren. What a safari! We wish we could take the credit but I think our wild friends take the most credit for putting on such a great show. The gorillas, the lions, the hyenas, elephants etc did their part and we are glad you enjoyed every day on safari. We enjoyed your eagerness to learn more about culture, safari and its role in Uganda's development. would give this safari a 10/5. Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. We couldn't have asked for a better trip. We did a 12 day Uganda safari including Chimp/Gorilla tracking. They will gear your itinerary to what you wish for you trip, the price is right and the communication was great. They do everything in their power to make your stay with them as smooth and enjoyable as possible. It was an eye opening experience and I can't wait to do another safari with Buutu. Ojok was an amazing guide, and we called him our Ugandan father. He did everything he could to make sure we seen everything we wanted. We seen lions, giraffe's, leopards, hyeenas, multiple types of antelope, hippos, rhinos (at the sanctuary), the list goes on. Thank you again for the fabulous adventure, I miss the Pearl of Africa already. Please consider Uganda,
