The authentic, original Source of the Nile Site, where the British Explorer Speke first discovered the River Nile (of course the Africans knew there was a river, but anyway..). Stand where he stood, take a picture with the monument, go for boatrides across the river nile and into Lake Victoria, see monkeys, monitor lizards, pythons (and maybe even an authentic African Witchdoctor). The site also allows for camping, nature walks, parties and occasions with a truly spectacular nature setting. Ideal for Birdwatching and anyone looking for 1 day tour in the Ugandan Countryside.

Learned that Jinja is the source of the Nile, could see the springs bubbling up under the water that feed Lake Victoria & the Nile. There's a statue of Ghandhi there because some of his ashes were sprinkled in the waters. The guide on the...More

We took a boat to reach the source of the river Nile. It was really exciting to stand at the source of such a river. On her banks the whole African particularly Egyptian civilization was established and flourished for ages.

Took a boat from the sailing club and the captain was very knowledgable and he made our time on the Nile very enjoyable, especially for the cousins from Canada, who were in Uganda for the 1st time.
