45 Holes of Championship Golf - Links Course, Mountain Course, &...

45 Holes of Championship Golf - Links Course, Mountain Course, & Pristine 9. The Lake Placid Club Links course was designed in 1909 by the renowned Scottish architect Seymour Dunn. Dunn remained true to his origins, and the Links course represents Scottish Links style golf at its best with bunker-laden fairways, native fescue, and large undulating greens. The Lake Placid Club Mountain course was laid out in 1910 by Alexander H. Findlay who immigrated to the U.S. from Scotland in the early 1880's and became one of the pioneers of golf in America. In 1931 the course was remodeled by Alister MacKenzie, designer of Augusta National – the home of "The Masters". With smaller greens and more tree-lined fairways, this course begs for the straight shot. The engaging design takes full advantage of the scenic vistas and will appeal to players of all levels. It is quite simply the essence of "mountain golf". Pristine 9 Executive Course - A little slice of golf heaven with 7 par 3's and 2 par 4's. The par threes range from 90 to 200 yards in length and have small undulating greens while the par 4's are reachable at 260 and 270 yards, eagles are rare, and birdies fly away with frequent three putts. Moose are known to frequent the Pristine 9 as they love to go for a dip on Hole 7 where the tee shot requires a carry over a pond. Typical round takes about an hour and a half, so it makes for family fun or a quick getaway for lunch on the run. Spectacular Weddings and Special Events: Overlooking the Historic Lake Placid Club Golf Courses, the Golf House offers the most beautiful view of the High Peaks in the Adirondacks. With an open-beamed ceiling, a massive stone fireplace & magnificent antler chandeliers, your Lake Placid special event at our Golf House is the epitome of an Adirondack experience. If you prefer the outdoors the covered pavilion attached to the Golf House gives you the best of both worlds...outdoor feeling while protected from the elements.

We played the Mountain Course in the middle of the week. Noticed in the pro-shop that only three other groups were on the course that day. The only people we saw were the beverage cart and the grounds crew. Staff was more than willing to help when we arrived. Course was in very good shape and it is resort friendly... More

Enjoyed the variation of holes for the Mountain course that would be difficult to walk. There are a lot of hills and uphill and sidehill lies are prevalent. Landing areas are very generous and greens are very large and receptive. The mountains make for a beautiful background. Greens were in great shape but cut to make the putts slow rollers.... More

We did a mid afternoon tee off are a discounted rate and really enjoyed the round. We loved everything about the course from the yardage markers, the great fairways and lovely greens. There was 1 couple behind us who ended up joining us so there was no pressure from behind. The views of the mountains is really nice! The staff... More

Really fun course. We played the Mountain View course - very challenging with many different lies, blind shots and fescue! We'll go back to play the Links course next time. Very nice staff and has a driving range. Views were spectacular!

The course is only a good value if getting the rate at 2 pm when the rates drop to $35. But don't try to get this rate even a minute earlier then the digital clock. Played the links course: Was extremely bumpy: had to be careful not to hurt back while driving in cart. Had to walk through fescue to... More

Got a chance to play the Links course at LPC. After 3pm you can play for $35 with cart. The views are outstanding. The course is in great shape. Just challenging enough for the average golfer. Wide open but lots of fescue to lose plenty of golf balls. You're sure to have an enjoyable round.

service was poor especially for a higher end resort; no bag boy, no delivery of cart, had to carry clubs to and from car, poor drink cart service; poor signage on course to direct you to next hole; no drinking water on course; course conditioning was adequate but not exceptional; cart paths were very rough; we played the Links Course... I played the links on Thursday and Friday of last week. The course is in very nice shape and the professional staff was great and very attentive. The course is challenging but not overly so. Wide open fairways and some very challenging holes. The views are spectacular. When I am in Lake Placid this is the place to play and... More

Thank you for the review of the golf courses. The Links and Mountain courses are both in spectacular shape and we are glad you had a chance to enjoy them. We also feel that the views and accessibly of the courses are what makes our property as you said, "the place to play." More

Thank you for playing our Mountain Course, we are proud of the our three courses and we are very pleased that you enjoyed our "twilight special." The blind shots on the Mountain Course are what makes it so unique. We would also encourage you to pay our Links Course and Pristine 9 when you visit again! More

We played the Mountain Course twice and their Links course one time. All three days the black flys drove us crazy even wearing neutral colors, long pants, sleeves and covering ourselves with Cutter. Third day we bought mosquito head covers and although we didn't look very fashionable, they worked! The Mountain course is our favorite and in the best shape... More

Thank you for taking the time to create a review, we appreciate the feedback and will use it to improve our services here at the Lake Placid Club. We are so glad that you were able to play both of our championship courses. It is unfortunate that your play was impacted by black fly season. It is a short window... More
