My family attended for the world music festival to benefit Reason-2-Smile and it was so much fun. There were workshops offered for young kids and adults alike, amazing arts and crafts for sale and great lunch. All of it benefited a great organization. LPCA is great!

The cultural offerings keep getting better every year. Performances of all kinds fill the schedule. You can take art classes and see the MET on HD TV. Great addition to a small interesting town.

If you are looking for something to do other than sports or outdoor activities in Lake Placid, check out the LPCA. They have a full year round schedule of theatre performances, movies you won't see in movie theaters, musical performances and much more. Enjoyable evenings with the arts.

We attended the Manhattan Short Film Festival this past weekend and it was great. The staff was very friendly and the art in the gallery was diverse, though not stand out. It was very serene though. A deer decided to hang out in the parking lot, even with cars pulling in for this popular event! It was not run off.

We saw a beautiful glass exhibit that was very nicely displayed. The exhibit area is very small but still good for this exhibit. We also saw a children's opera, Hansel and Gretel which was great. Another day we saw a reading of Penguin Tango which was well done except for the narrator whose speaking was difficult to understand. The Center... More

Saw the Rebecca Kelly Ballet there. Wasn't expecting a real theatre in the middle of the mountains, but there it was. Nice!

I came across the Lake Placid Center for the Arts while surfing the web, only to discover that the Glenn Miller Orchestra would be in town the night we arrived in town. We HAD to go! Upon checking into our accommodations, I immediately went over to see if pre-sale tickets were still available, just hours before the show. The lady... More
