We took the trip in one day. Started 6am from the parking and used 4 hours up and 4 hours down. Was nobody in the cabin so don't expect to get to buy anything. The view was amazing. Windy on the top 😁

We loved this hike to Pitan des Neige from Cilaos. It was hard going, especially the trail at the top from the Gite but well worth it! I would leave plenty of time for this hike as we ended up going back in the dark....More

To start: we began from the village Cilaos at 2am and got back at 12am, so it is doable! As we book our holidays quite late, there was no room in gite on top of the mountain. As well, we quite could not gwt a...More

Really nice climb, but a bit challenging. The best way for those who are not trained is to start at the afternoon, around 12-00 pm to 1-00 pm, to reach the Gite at about 6-00 pm. Make sure one has all warm clothes and water...More

We went for an overnight trip: hike up, stay in the hut, hike up before sunrise, hike all the way down with breakfast on the way back. We started from Le Bloc car park, we took a bus from Cilaos to get there. The way...More

The walk up and down is long and very hard. Most of people stop the refuge and wait for the dawn but if you start from the bottom and do it in one shot, expect around 6h walkings on a very steep path, climbing stairs...More

Starting at 8am from Le Bloc car park we hiked up arriving at the Caverne Dufore gite just before 11am. I filled my water platypus as the staff were cleaning and about to close up. The drizzle accompanying us all the way up dried out,...More
