Although we did not officially do a tour with AVM, we had experienced Julio’s wealth of climbing knowledge, hospitality, and help. So much so that I can confidently say anyone booking his tours would also feel the same.
He has all the climbs’s nuances and their grades memorized. Our Todra Gorge climbing experience would have been a south -180° without him! So we are super grateful for his and Emily’s help, lessons, and hospitality.
Can not recommend him enough. Hope he comes to visit the states for my friend and I to show him the Gunks!

Julio is a top bloke who knows the gorge like the back of his hand. Not only does he have the best route map, but he is also a highly competent climber, catering foe all levels of climbers - from the hardest full day multi pitches to the beginner runs at "jardin d'ete". He also has top rate equipment and runs the only climbing shop in the area.
He also organizes walking tours around this area of the middle atlas, where you can stay with the local nomads. I did not attend these but the French couple I was staying with said it was a fantastic experience.
Keep up the fantastic work Julio!!!

I climbed with Julio for multiple days during my time in Todgha Gorge - and I stayed in the gorge for even longer than I originally planned because of his warm hospitality and the excellent climbing. Julio is an extremely experienced outdoor guide and climber and consequently I progressed my climbing skills and learnt a lot from him during my time there. His shop also hosts an array of excellent equipment for hire and sale if you’ve forgotten any gear! I’m looking forward to returning soon to spend more time there again. Thank you!

Were guided by Ali on the Via Ferrata and provided with specialist harnesses and karibiners for it. Route started at end of the narrow section of the gorge. The Via Ferrata is not particularly long but is steep and spectacular, especially the aerial bridge. There is a bypass route but everyone was up for it. Great views from the top and keep an eye out for the friendly squirrel! Descent route down steep, rocky path to river bed. Took about 90 minutes altogether but definitely worth doing.

Aventures verticales is a professional and great climbing shop. You can find it easily because it's the only climbing shop in todra gorge so far. You can rent and buy almost everything you need for toprope or multi-pitch climbing and the prices are more than fair. The owner is very helpful and has a good local knowledge. We also got a free Topo from him which was really helpful. If you just climb for a few days, you don't have to bring all of your own climbing gear from home, altough we brought our own climbing shoes.

I went to Julio at the end of every climbing day to get a recommendation for the next day. The routes he suggested were awesome. Also the prices on the equipment he has on sale are not bad.

We contacted Julio via email about 2 weeks before arriving in Morocco. We had a 3 hour window on our drive from Skoura to Merzouga. We met Julio at his shop, which was very easy to find (look for the mannequin mountain climber hanging from a rope outside his place). Within 15 minutes we were on the trail and did a great loop through a very beautiful part of the gorge finishing with a walk through the palmiere. Julio is extremely knowledgeable. His english is very good (our french and berber is non-existant). He's a joy to hang out with. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time....Thank you for the wonderful hike Julio! Hope to see you again one day - Jessie and John

We spent the morning climbing a multi-pitch route with Julio in mid-November. Julio is doing great work and has bolted a number of these routes himself. Had a terrific experience although the limestone is a bit sharp on the hands; my iPhone wouldn't recognize my fingerprints for the next few days! Highly recommended.

Hi!
Been trying to get in touch via email and phone, but not getting any luck. What’s the best way to contact you? Looking to do a 5-6 day trip in late October/early November.
Merci

Bonjour, le tarif est de 52$ cnd pour une demi journée d'escalade. Si nous avons notre équipement (soulier et harnais), cela couterait combien? Logiquement, cela devrait être moins cher.
Merci d'avance
