South Gambia Tour - Fishing village and Paradise Beach

1 review
The South Gambia-tour is for people who are interested in seeing something more than the tourist areas. The Tanji Fishing Center is one of the major fishing communities in the Gambia and the Paradise Beach in Sanyang is a beautiful and peaceful place.

As nature reserve very nice, varied, provided with good guide very interesting about utility and use of trees and plants. Plenty of monkeys up close. Cruise through mangrove area. Luch-area not clean, old material and bad, not fresh lunch at anyway hefty price. Old and warmed-up ingredients. Art Craft Centre nice for little visit, but not clean and certainly no spectacular objects.

When I say exciting lunch, I mean exciting lunch. Can you imagine eating peacefully and suddenly being surrounded by baboons? Don't worry, you're completely safe and protected! The forest is peaceful, tranquil and just what you need to escape the heat.

This is a managed area of forest with the inclusion of an introduction to various areas of local culture. It would be brilliant for anyone on their first visit to Gambia or Senegal. The guides are very knowledgeable about the local flora, fauna and customs. It is possible to see quite a few local birds and there is a very big population of baboons which I would describe as semi wild in that they roam freely but are quite relaxed around people.

Nice peaceful place with great nature. Entrance (800 dalasi from foreigners) included a trip with a canoe and a nature walk with a guide. Some craft market and a museum was there as well. Really liked the experience. We also enjoyed a buffet lunch 200 dalasi per person
