A wonderful experience
May 2021
This year we did 10 miles the first day and 15 miles the second day. Working up to the full 26 miles we do in a single trip. The first few miles are the toughest, following the canal is a joy.

Excellent bike path

Very well maintained and scenic. Covered with autumn leaves when i was there. Chipmunks scampering everywhere. Lots of downhill AND uphill but nothing severe.

My wife found this; we were supposed to go overseas but were stymied by British Airways canceling a flight, so we regrouped and went to upstate NY and VT.
My wife is a former competitive mountain biker and I'm a schlub, but we bought a nice hitch and Thule rack, a Schwinn trailer for our 23 pound Boston terrier, and off we went. We had no trouble finding this; it is right on the main road at the southern border of Lake George, which BTW is gorgeous. or Georgeous. We parked on the street (got a ticket at the machine) and had no problem. If you need or want to, the Lake George area tourist info site is a 5 minute walk to the west along the lake.

Anyway, the trail is about 10 miles long, and goes into Glens Falls. Almost the entire thing is paved and is very safe; there is one part that goes along route 9 on a sidewalk separated by a guardrail from traffic, and maybe a half mile on a regular country road which gets a little narrow. OTherwise, wide open. We were told it was mostly flat the whole way....uh, no. This isn't exactly the tour de france, but there are a number of gradual hills that are not especially strenuous. We went as far as Quaker Road in Queensbury, then turned around. Next day we resumed at the same place (there's parking lot right there), and rode into Glens Falls on the two legs of the Feeder Canal trail, which was terrific. Overall, very enjoyable. In, fact, it was terrific. Probably easier to find the trail starting in Lake George but I'll bet most hotels in Glens Falls can tell you where to pick it up there.

Excellent, paved path for biking and walking
Oct 2020 • Couples
This was the highlight to our visit to Lake George. The path was wide and paving was smooth. Well kept up, with beautiful wooded scenery. We rode from Lake George to Glenn Lake and back (12 miles total). Slight inclines and a couple of small hills.

Beautiful, well-kept bikeway
Sep 2020
Scenic quiet bike path that is several miles long going from Million Dollar Beach down to near Queensbury. Slight incline with some hills going one way and mostly downhill going back. The trail was well-kept and paved the entire way. Perfect for days when you want to spend some time in the outdoors and really feel like you are in nature.

Great bike path
Sep 2020
Beautiful, mostly shaded bike path. Starts in the village near million dollar beach and heads into the woods. Well kept and long! Great spot to bike, nice downhill heading back toward the village- but lots of hills to give you a good workout!

One of the best

We biked everyday last week, from ten miles the first day to 26 miles another day. One of our favorite places to cycle.

Fantastic Activity For Family
Nov 2019 • Family
Thankfully, our family heard of this bike trail from another TripAdvisor reviewer. We camped at Whipporwil Campground just outside of Lake George (see review). The campground has a gate that leads directly onto the bike path. Our family enjoyed a beautiful day biking the paved and safe trails into Lake George. We were extremely impressed with how maintained and accessible the trail is. *Be aware that some parts of the trail are uphill, and may be challenging for some novice riders.* To avoid all the cars and parking issues on a busy weekend, we would recommend this bike path as an easy, scenic way to enjoy the towns.

Bike ride to Glen Falls
Oct 2019
Beautiful wide paved trail with a few hills. Nothing crazy and theres plenty of space to walk up if needed. The views from Lake George to Glen Falls were the prettiest. More shared path and city traffic as you get closer to Glen Falls but still very nice. We rode into town and enjoyed a wonderful meal before returning.

challenging ride
Sep 2018 • Couples
I ride many old rail trails and find this one challenging, but very scenic.
Looking forward to my annual trip up there in Sept 2019 to do this ride!
