Good trip. We arrived at approximately 9:45 am and made our way inside the building to buy our tickets. The tours were scheduled on the hour, which made it very convenient to just hop on the next tour. We spent a couple minutes reading several informational plaques and looking at old artifacts located inside the visitor center before the tour started. The tour guides were dressed in character and provided an in depth historical account of the fort and it’s importance in society. The tour guides switched midway through the tour, and the second tour guide went through a demonstration on the weapons used several hundred years ago, as well as firing a blank shot from an old gun. We were then taken upstairs, where we were educated on the cannons used at the fort, along with another demonstration of a cannon firing a wooden ball. The tour guides were very informational and knowledgeable about the topic on hand. We were then given an opportunity to tour the rest of the museum on our own. There were various rooms that replicated life in the 1700s, as well as informational billboards elaborating what was being displayed. At the top of the museum was also a fantastic viewing point of the water.

Tip: I recommend spending 3 hours here if you truly want to see everything.

This was a very informative visit. The people who worked there were friendly and the cost of admission was reasonable. We really enjoyed it.

The entire Haunted Tour was enjoyable and educational. The two guides were very well informed and entertaining. The pace was good and we were given the opportunity to take lots of photos. Great family activity which combined learning and spooky fun!

The tour guides are AMAZING at the Fort William Henry Museum. They bring the famous history of Lake George to life. We went through the memorabilia before the guided tour. There’s a lot to see and read.
Will do again !!!

In doing our planning, we figured out that Fort William Henry was right next to our hotel. The Fort itself was nicely done on the original site but the siege has not very well interpreted...had to ask which way the French were coming. The exhibits were well done and the staff had some learning activities for some kids that were visiting as a part of a day camp. Very nice. A good surprise. The history on the Lake is very interesting with Ft. William Henry, Ft. Ticonderoga, and Crown Point being key points.

The whole experience is very positive, we started our tour listening to a talk on under water mining of ships in Lake George, then we listen to a very professional tour guide on the history of Fort William Henry, then followed with a talk on what is life like for foot soldier during American French Indian wars, then saw a firing of a black powder musket and a cannon at the roof top….awesome way to spend two hours, the greeters were professional, and all the talks were informative, and entertaining, highly recommend to anyone who enjoys history, in a fun and engaging way….keep up the good work.

Very historic and a great learning experience. Feels like walking back in time.
Be careful on the steps as I fell because of poor lighting.

This was really an outstanding visit. We were up here for for the hot air balloon festival, but spent day at Lake George. Tour consisted of a 1/2 hr live indoorn talk about the French and Indian Wars and the seige and fall of Fort Henry, and then a very entertaining 1/2 hr presentation outside by a Scot about contempory camp and militory life with lots of humor and references about sayings like "a thin red line" or going off "half cocked", Lots of fun and very entertaining and informitive. Adults and school age kids would definately like this visit, Suggest 1-2 hr visitt.

Interesting museum. The woman who led the museum tour had only been there a week. I think it would have been better for her to use her notes instead of referring to them each time she forgot the script. She was perfectly nice, but the presentation was very choppy. It was cool to learn about the weapons they used. They fired a musket and shot off a cannon. The young man who gave the cannon presentation was terrific.
