- Tyler Wynne4 contributionsMore of a wax haunted house than a museum, run if you love horror won’t be fun if you’re expecting a wax museumHonestly, we went into this blind and my fiancée and I had blast. Definitely not for kids, and maybe it was because we were seemingly the only people in here so it made it much creepier. It’s not really a museum, more a wax haunted house. If you like creepy things it’s worth the visit - I will say it is VERY dark, almost a little dangerous at one point, but besides that it was great.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 14, 2024
- Mary FFloral Park, New York440 contributionsCool wax museumDon’t be deceived by the outside of the museum. We have been to Lake George numerous of times and never thought to go in. So glad we did this time, it’s not your typical wax museum. I highly recommend the museum, be aware it is very dark.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 30, 2024
- traveler413673 contributionsMore ‘haunted house’ than ‘museum’ vibesMy kids wanted to do this….til they did it, LOL! Was totally not on our agenda but is def something they’ll remember most about our trip to Lake George. Price was reasonable and it takes about 15 minutes to walk through (perhaps longer if you’re enjoying it and not trying to race through it like we were!) I personally wouldn’t recommend for kids younger than 12 unless they are not phased by horror/gore or easily scared. We are not horror movie fans by nature so this was def creepy for us- but we knew what we signed up for! It’s more like an interactive haunted house museum versus just a “wax museum.” It’s very dark throughout the experience and you are not allowed to turn a cell phone flashlight on. All exhibits are behind glass and nothing is live, meaning no one will actively follow, touch or come at you. Still-we were relieved when we walked out the exit door, LOL! I would have enjoyed more info about each scene to accompany the “exhibit”- and the push button exhibits didn’t seem to click on correctly. All in all, a fun memory made!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 12, 2024

this is great place i love going to it. the electric chair is probably my favorite. they do not let you come back once you walk upstairs. at first you will probably see old stuff such as Frankenstein, Dracula and treasure island. the floor textures do change. there some buttons you need to press some take 35 seconds to activate. there are some bloody scenes like bathtub murder. when you are halfway done there is jump scare that is loud. some thing do hit the glass. be warned there is executions and pain like hangings. there is vortex tunnel so hold the rail should check out models.

More of an 80s haunted house than wax museum. A few jump scares throughout. Went with our 10 and 9 year old. Who were able to get through without being too scared. The black hole exit is amazing! The kids loved it! Went back again the next day. Parents also had a good time.
Well worth admission...around $38 for a family of 4

The scariest part of this attraction was when a teenage employee came out of nowhere in the dark to tell my husband to put on his mask. The displays were pretty creepy. Worth the price at $10 and change per person.

We are in our late 50's and found it to be pretty lame. Fake looking. There were two things that were cool but not for us. Younger kids may possibly get a kick out of it. Warning its VERY dark inside so if you don't like the dark stay away.

It’s a cute little spot on the Main Street, but it’s quite gory rather than spooky. Heads cut off, blood splattered…. Also it extremely… but terribly- extremely old. Not kept up with. Like come on, it’s a hot spot, re-camp the place. I have been going since I was 7 years old with my parents, now I am a 40 year old mom going with my husband and kids. It hasn’t changed😭🤣

I was first here in 1990 and now I brought my 14 year old daughters. Although the "spirit" of the wax museum has not changed, they have updated the experience and my daughters loved it. It is self guided and not busy so it is a "must see" to get the full Lake George experience. The "Tourist Trap" and "Black Hole" are especially fun.

We went into the House of Frankenstein thinking it would be a museum and it is not - it is a haunted house. It was super scary - very very dark and our goal once we realized what we were in for was to get through as quickly as possible. About halfway through one of my teenage daughters said she could not go on any further because it was too scary but I was too scared to go back through with her! So, we toughed it out and continued the tour.
We were all hysterically laughing throughout and had a really fun time but next time we will do our research and know what to expect.

I was wondering if this museum is handicap accessible? We went to the Shelburne Museum a few weeks ago and they charged us full price for something my husband only had access to getting in maybe half of the buildings and some that he could get into had 2 or 3 floors which he couldn't get on. So before we went to your museum, I just wanted to know if he could get through the museum in his wheelchair.
Thank you
