Beautiful Lake
Jun 2021 • Couples
We were in Lake George for a wedding event. It’s a great area. Most of the resorts are manicured and well kept and not run down nor trashy. Many restaurants, shops and activities, in the main area of the lake. There are large old paddle boats to take a boat tours around the lake. They have parks, for picnicking or relaxing. There’s the historic Fort William Henry, with a tour. During the good weather months and no pandemic, they have concerts at a couple locations. Various hiking trails take o e through the Adirondacks. A worthy place to visit.

What is there not the like about Lake George? I’ve been going to LG since I’ve been a kid and now I take my kids and my granddaughter is up for a trip as soon as she gets older to appreciate the Adirondacks. I absolutely LOVE LG. It’s a great family atmosphere.

Relaxing Fall weekend
Oct 2020
This was our first trip during the COVID-19 pandemic time. 4 of us were exhausted staying in the house since February and the 1st weekend of October - we drove to Lake George. We stayed at Home2 Suites by Hilton, Queensbury - Glen Falls. Saturday morning - we drove to Prospect Mountain to breath in the fresh air. Small hikes at the mountain where the fall color was just showing up - brought back laughter and joy to our family. Then we drove to - Top of the World Golf Resort - the view of Lake George was mesmerizing - spent there around an hour. Later we had lunch at nearby - Panera and went to Million Dollar Beach - the beach was closed due to COVID but walk along the outskirts of the beach was refreshing and peaceful. We saw a old-fashioned steam powered boat. We also walked along the shore of the beach. Visited small towns/villages along the shore of the lake and went to Old Wine distillery. Next day we again saw ourselves along side the lake and then headed to Fort Ticonderoga. Its a long but beautiful drive to the fort. You need a good 4 hours to go around the fort and enjoy the beauty of the fort and the nature around. There are many more places to visit at Lake George - we just had enough time for these only. We are coming back to Lake George soon.

Great hiking
Nov 2020 • Couples
We escaped the hustle and bustle of downstate after thanksgiving and found numerous relatively easy hikes with great scenery and amazing views. It’s definitely worth a visit for hikers.

“Nature and History At Its Finest”
Oct 2020 • Couples
Lake George was an awesome option for a birthday weekend getaway. There was so much to do and see. From the beautiful views of the mountains with the trees in their fall colors, to the dinner cruise on the lake to the attractions still open during the fall season. The best part was the town was overrun with people. Next visit will be to see what the spring/summer had to offer.

Camping in Lake George
Oct 2020 • Friends
Lake George is so beautiful and a great place to relax and get back to the basics. Camping on one of the islands is the way to go. So peaceful (except when a fast boater comes by) and scenic. Perfect for smaller boats and kayaks (closer to shore). Bring your supplies. The islands have outhouses but may need to clean and bring toilet paper in a zip lock to keep dry and insects out. Plan on bringing wood, fire starter, chairs, tents, food to cook easily. Coolers and utensils. Some places sell groceries but better to get it in town at Tops Market in Bolton Landing. Sign up fir the rewards. Saved $50 during checkout. Able to get wood and everything else. Please clean up after yourselves and keep it beautiful. Special shout-out to Ranger Lisa because she made our trip over the Columbus Holiday 2020 weekend a perfect one with my son. I am forever grateful for your kindness. The water is clear chilly but so refreshing.
