The uptown area was a pleasant surprise. Interesting architecture, a nice mix of historic period buildings with boutiques, galleries, and restaurants, and easy to walk aroundll. A must if you are in Kingston.

The Stockade District has great speciality stores. It also has a plethora of stone houses dating back to the 1700s. You have to walk through the burial ground of the Dutch Reformed Church.

The nearest movie theater is in the Hudson Valley Mall off of State Highway 9W in the Town of Ulster, which is about a ten minute drive from Uptown Kingston.
