Though compact this museum ranks right up there with many that we have visited. Great display of memorabilia including a firehouse 'pole'. There is a fairly steep stairway to the 2nd floor with no elevator available. The volunteers staffing the museum are chockfull of knowledge. A don't miss attraction if you are in the area.

There is a hoarded collection of local and regional fire fighting history - the people, the equipment and the culture. Staffed by retired fire fighters with lots to share about everything. Go upstairs and visit the old meeting hall with its collection of photos, documents, furniture and all sorts of stuff from the 1800s - 1900s.

We went to the museum with my four year old grandson and my eighty-plus old parents. There was enjoyment and all. See a great collection of firetrucks and memorabilia and lots of hands on activities for young children. Inexpensive and interesting.

While much of the museum is hands-off, there is plenty to engage young children and plenty to keep adults busy as well! My kids loved the interactive exhibits, and I was amazed by the sheer size of the place. What a gem.

My husband and I happened upon this Museum purely by accident one day and decided to go in and look around. It was very interesting and the folks inside were very knowledgable about the local history and were able to answer everyone's questions. It's a great place to visit and take the kids

Lots of firetrucks to see, including some that were horse-drawn. Countless artifacts relating to local firemen and firehouses. Excellent for our young grandchildren who received firemen hats and were able to climb aboard one of the firetrucks.

Located in Uptown Kingston, the firemans museum is a small building that will give you some local history on firefighting. There are also restaurants and shops located nearby. Uptown Kingston also has a farmers market on the weekends. Nice place to hang out and/or eat during the warmer weather.

Was enjoyed by three generations. We appreciated all of the little extra time/attention given by the fireman to my son. He really engaged him and showed him some very cool things we had overlooked. Worth a stop!
