We hiked the Peters Kill Trail at the Minnewaska State Park Preserve. We hiked only the 3 mile loop because it was icy and slippery and you had to negotiate the various paths and some steep hills. You access this trail behind the Park Office building. You can park there but there is a charge of $10 per auto. People... More

This park offers cross-country skiing. That's an amazing feature on top of all the trails in winter time. Views around Minewaska Lake are beautiful and are worth the visit for sure. Great outdoor activity terrain for any time of the year!

To find this park was very easy. We drove in and paid the $10 fee. They only accept cash but will soon be accepting credit cards this summer. The waterfall is beautiful be careful with ice at this time of year the entire trail to the bottom of the waterfall is all ice. The lake is completely frozen over and... More

It is one of the most beautiful places for hiking! It is easy to walk around as there are carriage roads. The views are spectacular! All trails are well marked. During the summer can swim in the lakes. It is great to spend a few days hiking in the park. Must see place in New York State!

I have been here so many times, but each time I see something new. The views are awesome. Summer time you can swim in either of the lakes that are crystal clear. The park offers all levels of hiking and all different distances. For a state park it's worth ten times what you pay for the entrance fee. Anytime we... More

One of my favorite places to visit. I live a few miles from the park. I used to drive through the mountains to go to work and all my co-workers were envious of my drive. The area is gorgeous all year long, but particularly during Autumn. The lake at Minnewaska has breathtaking views and goes back since ancient time. Totally... More

First time visit on family recommendation. Spectacular scenery, views of Hudson Valley and Catskills, very striking cliffs and escarpments around a glacial "sky lake." Many side trails, an excellent day hike in a rare mid January sunny day without snow cover. Looks like cross country skiing would be quite exciting here too!
