We came to the dam from the Zambia side. After going through immigration there and leaving our IDs there we drove over the dam and then walked back across. The views really are stunning and it's interesting to see the work going on on the other side of the dam wall. Still, we felt it was lacking more information. A tour would be greatly appreciated or at least a small museum going through the history and mechanics of the dam. In all, we spent about 45 minutes there.

I took my family for an educational and leisure tour to the Lake Kariba Dam wall. Its a great place to go to this historical site.My late father took me there for the first time in 1991 and thought i take my family too.

Great place to stay. Very tranquil and relaxing. Sunsets and sunrise are awesome. The breakfast is huge as well as well.as the lunches and dinner. The service is slow. Waiters are overwhelmed by many guests there was

I visited when water levels were very low so it wasn't as spectacular as I imagine it can be but was worth the trip. Can walk the whole dam, take photos, etc in about an hour.

Interesting place to see if you are around in the area. Would be nice to have a little bit more explanation about the dam.

Worth a visit, the sheer size and curve of the dam is incredible, makes you dizzy looking down below. Tours are offered weekday mornings and the dam is free to roam while contemplating how much water it's holding back. Look for a rainbow on the dam wall!

The actual Kariba Dam wall is in Zimbabwe, not in Zambia. The picture uploaded is of a river, not the dam. There is nothing to see here.

IDs required, passes and fees, all expected of course. Were a terrorist with a ton of explosive planning a visit I doubt he would first visit the office, but who knows?

Just seeing the works and enjoying the breeze was what every girl needs once in a while. We experienced the maintenance of the bridge and went on a boat cruise, quite amazing

What is the point of reviewing a structure. It was impressive but just a concrete edifice and power station.

Is there Cheetah or Lion walking offered in Siavonga?
what other activities besides boat cruising are available?
Is Bungee jumping available? and if so, what are the rates?
Written November 12, 2018
No cheetah or lion walks available at Siavango. Closest experience in Zambia would be in Lusaka (Cheetahs). No bungee jumping either. Closest would be on Bridge at Victoria Falls.

Is a sedan good enough to reach Siavonga? How are the state of the roads? Thanks
Written January 1, 2017
Roads are not bad, but some parts you just need to drive carefully and slow, especially mountains area. Sedan will be fine if driving during the day
