Came to this park after visiting Taughannock Falls. Even less water for the buttermilk fall. A lot of people nearby come for picnic. Easily accessible when you're in the park.

Buttermilk Falls was unexpectedly amazing. There was no water passing through the original waterfall, so we did not expect much. After hiking up, it got to be beautiful, a stunning view that was worth climbing so many stairs. We didn't have time to finish the hike, but it was okay since all of the sights were amazing.

Beautiful park with hiking trails. Some of the trail is quite steep but once you get to the top the view is breathtaking. You do need to pay a $7 Ny state park fee to enter and walk the trails. They also offer rent and trailer camping

We did a hike up to Lucifer's Falls in Robert Treman State Park last summer, and tried Buttermilk Falls this time. The hike in Robert Treman took us all afternoon, including stopping to swim along the way. To go up the Gorge Trail and down the Rim Trail in Buttermilk Falls took us only about two hours-- again stopping to... More

This has a great hike up to many other waterfalls. Easy access to see the main falls and one of the best playgrounds in the parks

Great place to visit. Trails are well groomed and maintained but a bit much for small children (3yr). Falls weren't as good as in the past because of the lack of water. Still a great place to visit and we plan on going back.

This wouldn't have gotten much attention from us had we not going up to the top. It was worth walking the distance. Beautiful stonework was so inviting to my young girls. We took many pictures at the crest. I highly recommend the walk up.

Buttermilk Falls is a great option if you are planning a hike in the Ithaca area. Parking is $7 for the day. There is a large playground at the bottom of the trail for young kids. We hiked all the way to the top of the trail and then went around the lake. The total distance was about 4 miles... More

The park itself looks well kept and the staff were friendly. We just wanted to see the acclaimed falls and then maybe swim for a bit; the area has been hit by drought like conditions this year which has obviously affected the famed falls all around Ithaca. It is still a cool place to see, but don't be surprised if... More
