This exceeded my expectations! The boat was clean and timely. We had 4 friends and Captain Rick on board and it was comfortable. The wineries were fabulous!!! Captain Rick was fun and funny and accommodating and knowledgeable and we felt safe. All-in-all I would go again and I’d highly recommend to others. It’s worth it!!

We had such an amazing time. Captain Rick took us on a four hour winery tour via boat. It was amazing, he put on whatever music we requested. His boat was in perfect condition and a lovely size for our group of 5. We were celebrating a bachelorette. We went to Long Point Winery and Sheldrake. Both were amazing amazing experiences. Rick was also half boat captain, half wine guru. He had a lot of knowledge of each winery and the wines they offer. We had such a blast and it was such the perfect day. Thanks Rick!

Rick was an absolute blast! My family and I originally chartered his boat to enjoy the day on the water. What we ended up getting was an incredible history lesson on the area and many laughs with the captain. He provided great recommendations on wineries in the area and had amazing knowledge on wine in general. He turned a fun boat day into an experience my family will never forget. I can't recommend 'School's Out Charters' enough!

Sadly, we did not have a chance to tour with Captain Rick, but I just wanted to write a review about the integrity of this tour company. I had booked a wine cruise with School's Out Charters for my sister's bachelorette party, but unfortunately the forecast called for rain. The day before our scheduled tour, Rick called me and stated that he was afraid we wouldn't have a good time and instead referred us to another, top-notch, on-land tour company who had room for us even with one day's notice. He refunded my deposit the same day and we had a great time despite the rain. We would have really loved to have gone on the boat, but it poured and we would have been cold and miserable. Many, many thanks to Captain Rick for his honesty and for helping us make it a great time for the bride-to-be!

The six of us met Captain Rick (and First Mate Tony) at the Lansing, NY marina, boarded his immaculate and comfortable late model speed boat and traveled the lake for six hours, all for a very reasonable cost. We visited four wineries, swam in the middle of the lake, brought our own packed lunch and beverages, and had a great day.
This is a great service and Captain Rick was most accommodating to all our requests! Do it!!

I recommend this company highly! We booked a private wine charter for six people, a bachelorette party. All information provided while booking the excursion was clear and helpful. Rick was happy to answer all my questions, and offered tips and recommendations about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Captain Scott. He was friendly, good-humored, and made sure we were well taken care of. The boat was beautiful. It was clean, and it felt new. There was a convenient cooler for our snacks and beverages, and a nice sound system with Bluetooth technology. Luckily, we had beautiful weather for our tour! This is a well run business. I hope I get the chance to return to Cayuga Lake for another tour with School's Out Charters!

We stumbled upon this while researching our first kid free trip ever. WHAT AN AMAZING FIND! We had an absolute blast and for the money, felt it was worth it.

We arrived at the dock. On time, which for us doesn't happen alot. And were pleasantly surprised at the condition and comfort of the boat. Seats were comfortable and not marred. Carpets showed no wear or stains and chrome polished. There was threat of rain so Master Capt. Mike had a cover up just in case.

We toured 3 wineries and a lovely little deli for lunch. The one we were most impressed with was Sheldrake, loved the cheese flight incorporated into the tasting.

Now, the best for last. Master Capt. Mike is an absolute gem. Familiar with the region's history, wine knowledge and all out just an entertaining gent. We would not hesitate to go on this again and will definitely recommend to friends.

Except remember to get your spoils out of his cooler before he drives away lol!!!

Job well done to School's Out charters! A++++

Captain Mike is the best. Having grown up on Lake Cayuga, he knows many stories of the scenic coastline and waters. We went on two trips-the winery tour and the sunset cruise. Both were excellent.

Not being boat people, we were apprehensive at first, but Mike did an excellent job in taking us around the lake. The wineries were fun with Sheldrake definitely being the best. Lunch at the Busy Bee was great. The sunset cruise was the "Life of Riley" at its best.

We will do this again.

This is more than just a fun way to get to the various wineries. Captain Rick was knowledgable about wine, the vineyards, the tasting experiences as well as the lake. He was the best host! He went out of his way to make sure we had a great time and were safe. In my opinion touring wineries via boat is the most fun and unique way to go and School's Out Charters is the best at doing it. This is a must if you ever come for a visit!
