Top musicians , vocalists and of course the ever so talented Chris Botti . Saw him a few times at different venues . Last night ,June 2 , we were 4 rows away .. Fabulous! Can’t wait until he returns next year .. I am there ! Such talent on one stage ..Venue.. easy to get tics, free parking in lots . Lots of great restaurants around . Seats very tight but didn’t care ..Highly recommend a night of superior talent and fun .Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 3, 2024
- PaigeSouthold, New York64 contributionsFun VenueFun venue to see a show! If you sit on the floor, you are on a folding chair attached to the rest of the row with very little leg room (I was with two people 6' + and they were a big uncomfortable). Not sure about the upper levels--overall a fun place!!Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 4, 2024
- Alan304Cranford, New Jersey2,334 contributionsNice theater - nearly 100 years oldThe layout is a bit unique, you need to go up a flight of stairs from the street to reach the orchestra seats. The orchestra seats are quite small, making sitting tight with the people sitting next to you. There are two bars in the orchestra seating area and a larger bar in the orchestra level lobby.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 22, 2024

$16 draft beer is outrageous. No sign posting the price. Girl pours two 12oz drafts and says $32. I just think it’s outrageous. There is never a line at the bar. Now I know why. The best was the band, cold beer on a Friday night, between songs tells everyone to raise their beer glasses for a toast and about 10 hands go up in a sold out crowd. Nice venue but outrageously expensive.

This is a follow up review to one I wrote 6 years ago in which I gave the venue a very good rating based upon the great location and the many good artists they present. I have been there 5 times this year, twice for the comedy of Tom Papa and Jeff Acuri, and three times for the music of Mike Delguides, Frank Turner, and Joss Stone. The sound for the concerts was ear splittingly loud to the point where the lyrics could not be understood and if you are not wearing earplugs, your head will ring for days.
If you sit on the floor, you are on a folding chair attached to the rest of the chairs in the row with very little leg room. If you sit up on the sides you will be sitting on a hard wooden chair with no padding. If you sit in the sky bar you are basically sitting in a bar with people talking loudly not even paying attention to the artist. Had enough of this place. Plenty of good venues on Long Island to see comedy and music. The Tilles Center, Patchogue theatre, The Landmark in Port Washington, Westhampton Beach Theatre, and Jones Beach to name a few. The Capital Theatre and The Tarrytown Theatre in Westchester get the same acts and are not that far a drive.

We went last night to see an Eagles tribute band. The band itself was very good, very talented musicians that nailed just about every detail of popular Eagles songs. The problem was the sound system, or whomever was behind the mixing board. To call it loud after the first 3 or 4 songs didn't even scratch the surface, it was painfully loud and many guitar solos were drained by overpowering drums and bass. I understand live concerts are not background music, but does it have to be so loud to literally heart your ears?
Enough said, a total shame, I was looking forward to this but "the mixing board specialist" totally screwed it up.

This was the first time my husband and I went to The Paramount. I bought tickets for my husband to see Kevin James for his birthday.
We were brought to our seats and we seated by the attendant just to fond out that she had seated us incorrectly.
The theater was absolutely freezing. I asked the attendant if the gigantic fans above us could be turned off. Everyone around us was freezing also, although some had brought jackets because they’ve been there before.
The attendant said “Oh they always start it off freezing but by the time everyone arrives it will get warmer”. Well, that was a lie. We were absolutely freezing and couldn’t enjoy the show. My husband’s neck and back were hurting from the wind blowing on him. We lasted about 40 minutes and left. What a waste of money! There is no reason to have it so cold!
We will think twice before going there again. We will definitely let people know about our experience if we know they are going here!!

I still cannot believe that the Paramount has folding chairs!!! The most uncomfortable theatre venue I have ever been in, they should be ashamed to use folding chairs and place the chairs one on top of each together where you literally have to seat with your arms folded.
Shame on you, replace the seats and space them appropriately.
I will never go back!!!

Have been here several time, most recently in February. The Paramount continues to be an excellent place to see a show. Located in the hear of Huntington, there are a lot of places to go either before or after a show.
There is not a bad seat in this venue.

We recently attended the Paramount to see the Maddie and Tae country band. The venue is gorgeous. Every seat in the place is great and there are numerous bars to get an adult beverage. The sound was great as a theater should be. This business is pro military and first responder!

Came here for the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Roadshow, was upstairs in the wings. Bizarrely the seats (normal dining room style chairs) were facing across the theatre to the other side, not at the stage to my right. Luckily I was on the end, so was able to shuffle forward a touch so I could see clearly.
Kevin Smith did an introduction before, and a Q & A after, the film, which was great.
Waitresses were wandering around offering drinks, which was great, however not so great during the film!! "loving the hot pants, but get them out of the way of the screen!" lol
Nice bar downstairs, though go before passing through security, otherwise you have to pass through security again!

Is this town and concert venue safe to go solo?
Also which are the best seats for view and suggestions for parking close by there for free or at a low price?

I would like to take two 9 y.o. kids to a concert at the Paramount - is that age ok and is it safe in the General Admission seats for them?
Written June 23, 2019
I think it depends on the concert. I've seen teenagers there at some shows but not sure about 9 year olds unless it's a kids show. General admission is all standing so don't think it would be enjoyable for kids b/c it will be hard to see and most people are dancing/drinking. But in the seated area you at least have your seats and it's more tame. You also can sit in the higher level where they could see over people. The venue is small and a great place to see a concert. Not as overwhelming as the Coliseum or MSG. Enjoy whatever show you see!
Written July 2, 2019
Sky bar is just a regular bar offers tap beer, drinks, etc. It's outside the concert area in the upper lobby. Good for pre-show drinks, or to get a drink away from the show if you want a break. There are also 2 bars inside the concert area. If you know someone who is a member of the founders room, take them up on the invite, it's a great underground space, and a nice experience. They also serve food.

how Is the security and is it a safe place for my 16 year old son and his friends to go see the lil Mosey concert unchaperoned? Also have they been known to serve alcoholic beverages to minors ?
Written March 11, 2019
It is a great venue and very safe. There is security all over the place. In order to get in you go through the metal detectors/ handbag search. If the servers have any doubt they ask for id. They have a founders club which is worth checking out. Go to the website and you can make an appt to view the founders club and the arena. It will ease your mind, and you may want to join.

Multiple outdoor municipal parking lots and legal street parking available. Fees are minimal and based on length of stay...maybe $5 for 5-6 hours.

Hi- I've noticed that in most venues here on LI, the concert seems secondary. I've been to concerts at Forest Hills, Westbury, Jones Beach, The Place, etc.. everywhere it seems people are ordering food, drinks, becoming obnoxious etc during the show, while some of us are trying to hear the concert we came to hear.
I left LI for over 35yrs in the 70's, have been back almost 6 yrs, and am appalled at the behavior. Same thing occurs in movie theatres. And in typical arrogant LI'er fashion, asking them to quiet down either leads to a threat of a brawl or alot of antagonistic rude comments. Its the same on the LIRR.
Unfortunately I cannot move away from LI due to family circumstances. It sux, and I don't see LI'ers ever acknowledging that their behavior is obnoxious. On the contrary- they usually spin it so that youre the one at fault.
Venue managers are mum because apparently they are dependent on the rude boisterous crowd to provide $$.
Good luck enjoying more LI concerts.
