A brief visit here to see the Hudson River at water level helped us envision how the town of Hudson became the home of whalers in the 1800s. The small park is located close by the train station and is a nice spot for a short walk and enjoying the scenery. There is no admission fee. Several people were fishing and others picnicking while we were there on a sunny afternoon. Be advised to turn left when exiting the park, as if you turn right the road ends very shortly thereafter.

It's a very nice view and a great place to walk or sit and watch the water and the boats go by. Easy walk into town. My wife and spent a very nice hour walking around after we had lunch.

Enjoy lunch in Hudson, then walk down Warren St to the river, cross the road and you are in for a great surprise. A spectacular view of the Hudson awaits. A lovely thing to do after a nice meal in town and strolling through the many shops and art, jewelry and clothes. There is a playground for small kids so something nice if they've been bored by the shops! And it is FREE!

Local legend will tell you this was once the center piece of Hudson. Sadly, urban redevelopment of the 1960s replaced much of this area with public housing.
If you want to catch gorgeous views and take a breath, enjoy. This is not a park for hiking or extended walks. Go to Olana or the Catskills for that.
This is a small urban park. The community is working hard to fix it up. Dog friendly and you won't feel alone.

We walked the town and ended up at the riverfront - very majestic and beautiful! A lovely stroll and a great way to end a tour - just watching the boats on the hudson, the birds flying over, and to imagine the history on this important and beuatiful river!

The Henry Hudson Riverfront Park can be accessed, from downtown, by way of the Henry Hudson River Way. It is a pedestrian walkway, which connects Albany's downtown area to the banks of the Hudson River. There are picnic tables by the river and this makes for an al fresco lunch, before strolling around the park. Great activity for people of all ages.

Walking toward the Hudson River on Warren Street in Hudson, NY, is a lovely experience. After passing the charming antique stores, galleries, restaurants, and shops that dot the street, the traveler is rewarded by reaching the Riverfront Park. The views of the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains on the other side make it a sweet spot to walk, sit, and contemplate the magnificence of the landscape. There's a cute playground for children who need to burn off some steam.

The riverfront park was a nice walk from our hotel and the views were outstanding. The foliage was just past peak, but still worth going to look at.

So we need a boat to get there? Can we go swimming?

Hello, we walked there from the end of Columbia Street in downtown Hudson. We were on the upper level where we looked across the Hudson River, and the vistas were beautiful, but it appears that there may have been more to it below. We didn't go anywhere else on the river's edge.
If you have a boat, you should get in touch with the Chamber of Commerce in Hudson to see about accommodations and swimming.
Can you dock your boat there overnight?

I would get in touch with the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce to find out about places that offer boat slips and moorings. Their number is: (518) 828-4417
