One of the things I love about Mexico are the plazas and gardens where the locals come to hangout. This one had the most and largest Dia de Muertos decorations.

The Jardin Zenea is a huge plaza with something always going on. It's one of the best places to people watch in the city. Sometimes there is a local group of musicians playing, drummers, dancers, jugglers, clowns...fun for the kids and the adults. This is our go-to place after dinner every night in Queretaro. Weekends are especially lively, but I don't think there is a quiet night here.

This was the closest garden to my hotel and I loved sitting on a bench in the shade watching the parents with their children. My favorite gelato was located across the street and I would get a scoop in a cup and go eat it for lunch after returning from helping students with their English at Queretaro Hi-Tech University

I liked this plaza a lot. It is surrounded by nice stores and restaurants. There was a stage set up when we left, I guess in anticipation of the Independence festivities in September. This is a nice place to sit. It is very safe.

In the heart of the city I was tired from too much museum time, shopping and walking. Ate my snacks, took a breather, grateful for such a clean and attractive spot. Here I found shady refuge on a warm day, plenty of people-watching and a few pathetic professionals seeking alms.

Queretaro has so many parks, plazas, and public spaces -- and this is another. There's live music here most evenings and there's always a lot happening.

A live orchestra plays from the bandstand for a collection of very good dancers who dress for the occasion. A hundred or so chairs are set up for viewers and the rest of us enjoyed the dancing from the grass behind them.

Even if you do not like the great outdoors, this garden is beautiful and the smells of the flowers are heavenly

Visit this square on a Sunday evening and enjoy watching street performers and local Querétarans who have dressed up to dance near the pavilion. It's well worth it.

This garden is actually a parque where people are coming to dance, relax, listen music or perform different activities. This is a wonderful place to be.
