Gardens, fountains, restaurants and live music

Families and tourists sit alongside gardens listening to music and watching children playing. A wonderful place to rest for awhile while enjoying the town.

This is the main place of Queretaro City. It is surrounded by legendary buildings including the State Government Palace and the De la Villa del Villar Marquis statue in the main fountain. Villa del Villar Marquis financed the Queretaro Acueduct as a response of his love to a nun of the La Cruz Convent. The Plaza de Armas Place is... More

We ate at two restaurants on different days at the Plaza: Chucho El Roto (Classic Mexican Food - Great Steaks and some delicacies ("Escamoles" Mexican Caviar (ant eggs) and "Chapulines" (Grass Hoppers)) The service is friendly and outside there are dueling piano players. Next Door to Chucho's is 1851 a restaurant with a very similar menu and the other piano... More

If you're going to Queretaro you can't miss this spot is a beautiful and small plaza with lush trees and good restaurants and you can hire some guys that are on the plaza to tell you the history about this place.

What great fun it is to stroll around Plaza de Armas particularly on a weekend night. The central areas in Mexican towns and cities present some of what is best about this country. Individuals, couples, and families all gather to celebrate community in towns small and large. By far, in all of my travels around Mexico, the "dog" fountain of... More

Right in front of Plaza de Armas is located La Casa de La Corregidora which was the centre of intelligence of the Mexican War of Independence that started out in Dolores, near Guanajuato. From Plaza de Armas you can get to most historic attractions in Queretaro and also chill out at night in one of the many restaurants around this... More

Lovely plaza, my favorite in the city with the most beautiful fountain. There are restaurants and coffee shops around it. The restaurants with the best view are not necessarily the ones with the best food though. Buy a coffee somewhere else and go seat in the plaza in the morning as you plan your tour plan for the day. You... More

A must see when in Queretaro, the Independence square has lovely buildings around and an overall chill atmosphere. Museums and cafes around.
