Fun time

We went with a group of about a dozen people. The kids ranged in age from 9 to 13. We all had a great time. The rock pile is only a very short distance from the cars. We left our... read more

it was way too hot the day we were there but we had a great time and found some nice crystals. I'm looking forward to a return trip with the grandkids.

This is the third time we've been to Ace of Diamonds mine in as many years. Every time we've gone we've spent from 4 - 8 hours and come home with a nice supply of beautiful Herkimers. Ace of Diamonds is a real commercial mine and they have a few acres of land where they drop truckloads of mine tailings... More

Went Sunday June 26 very hot day. We did not stay long. You are mostly out in direct sunlight. Wear good shoes and pants and eye protection. This was a great experience. Not one I would do again too boring for me just banging on rocks.

What a great experience we had at this mine. We ended up bringing home quite a few 'diamonds' of all different sizes and I am still amazed at how something so beautiful is created over time inside these rocks. Some of these crystals are millions of years old....how cool is that??!! I would not recommend bringing really young children to... More

Checked out the Ace of Diamonds Mine after having no luck at Herkimer Dimond Mine. It costs $1 less here. It was pouring rain & my friend & I wore ponchos but still got soaked & full of mud like little kids!! We had so much fun. It can be hard work to find these diamonds. We brought our own... More

We went with a group of about a dozen people. The kids ranged in age from 9 to 13. We all had a great time. The rock pile is only a very short distance from the cars. We left our trunk open with a cooler. The kids would pound rocks and then take a break and have a drink. Everything... More

no one in our group found anything and we went everywhere in that place . 10-20 ft high piles of dump truck boulders you have to climb on .One dumped dirt pile where you were supposed to find crystals . One person found 1 the size of a sesame seed .Don't waste your money. Even in the upper half where... More

Found the best Herkimer Diamond yet this trip at the Ace of Diamonds. I usually come to this mine once a year. User friendly and very accommodating. Regularly provides new material to search. My favorite.

Lots of fun, hammering at rocks all day. 8 hours of mining and at the last hour we found a small herkimer about the size of a small strawberry. Bring lots of water and a good pair of gloves.

My fam stopped here en route to Massachucettes. It was lots of fun! The staff were very nice and provided tips on finding diamonds. There is also beautiful scenery in the surrounding area. Pricing was good and fair, equipment available to rent. Spent a few hours on a beautiful afternoon and left with a fair amount of booty! Would recommend!
