This was a really fascinating cruise through one of the locks on the Erie Canal. The very knowledgeable Captain gave us a thoroughly enjoyable jaunt through history about the first major artery for pioneers wishing to go West. All ages will enjoy this cruise; young children are even given a chance at the boat's wheel. The scenery is beautiful and... More

Erie Canal Cruises was very educational and fun for everyone. They told the history of the canal and took you through an actual lock. It was a 90 minute cruise, and there is a snack bar on board where you can purchase soft drinks and alcohol drinks, plus snack foods. We really enjoyed this trip and recommend it to everyone.

We had a 90 minute narrated lock-thru voyage on board the Lil Diamond vessel. CPT Jerry was very knowledgeable and gave a great narrative of the canal history. The boat has restrooms on board plus offer drinks and food. You could sit inside on the first floor or outside on the second floor. The Waterfront Grille is at the same... More

The title to this review is part of a song about the Erie Canal. A very informative trip and neat to experience how the locks work and to think the technology is over a century old.

We went on the Erie Canal Cruise Labor Day. The cruise was great and there was a lot to learn about the history of the canal. We called ahead to get tickets and I expect at the height of the season it is a good idea to do this. Most of the boat is covered with a few places to... More

We arrived 10 minutes before the cruise departed. Captain Jerry (someone who should NEVER be in customer service) snapped at us to redeem our tickets inside the building. Despite our voucher just saying to bring the voucher and turn in for 2 tickets. He was rude, obnoxious and an overall jerk! It turns out that they had miscounted the guests... More

90 minute canal ride on historic Herkimer, Mohawk River section. The Captain provides a super narrative and history of the Canal System. We learned more about Erie Canals building and preservation with many interesting facts. By far a cruise we highly recommend and it is right off NY thruway.
