- Dorian Yates1 contributionTucked away, not "hidden" but unknown to me...Just visited (Meh-SHUT) beach for the first time with my family. While it was incredibly windy, ultimately cutting our visit shorter than anticipated, we found the facilities to be great. As a Dad I loved not having to worry about giant crashing waves, the sand (I assume they truck in) is nice and ... sandy... not rocky or course. The beach is longer than I thought it would be with plenty of room to spread out, but it's not as wide/deep as the South Shore beaches. The little "gift shop" is nice and we all bought sweatshirts; and the snack bar is great. Lots of options for the kids and adults alike. They were playing fun top 40 music and everyone was super friendly. I really appreciated the number of lifeguards on duty as well. With barely any waves it's a much safer beach for kiddos anyway, but there were stationed lifeguard towers every 100 feet or so... all total, making for a great place to bring the kids. We'll definitely be going back in the future, and in the meantime we'll rep Meschutt Beach with our new merch.Written August 19, 2020
- CityMouseBklynBrooklyn, New York50 contributionsFamily friendlyWe visited during COVID. People did an OK job of keeping distance and masking around the restroom/snack areas. This is a nice little beach, not big on waves but not totally calm either. Pretty clean, and a giant playground right next door. This season, non-residents are not allowed to park there. We arrived early and easily found a spot by the marina around the corner.Written September 8, 2020
- Arthur H20 contributionsFamily fun great family including a restaurant & booze! Live music @ 5A great family beach for families with children 0-10. I will say wear beach shoes because as it all inland beaches on the island the shores have rocks!!! The water depth is NOT deep which makes it perfect for young children. You need a Suffolk County Green key to reduce the weekend parking fee from $20 per car to $9. There is a playground area for children with things to clime on and swing. If you dont bring your own food the food is good and reasonable. There are plenty of non-fired options. Drinks are very reasonable and ice cold beers (including IPA's can be had for as low as $5) Check out there website for the nights live bands play. It is definitely worth the 20 if you have young children who would like to have a large area of safe shallow water ... and clean bathrooms! It opens at 10 and has limited parking so go early. The day will pass quickly!Written July 9, 2018

Went there 2day nice beach pay parking beach hut has new owners
The prices went up
The drinks are smaller no kick they need to use liquor in the mixed drinks
Food was less than acceptable for the prices they charged

We went down on a Thursday night (last minute decision) with all of our kids and grandkids, and grabbed a bite to eat while we were there. The burgers were delicious, as were the chicken fingers. The sunset was perfect, the water was warm, and the band sounded great! The toddlers had a blast playing in the water and dancing on the patio.

The sand is clean, the water is warm, and calm. Great beach for young families. The concession stand is one of the Beach Hut chain of concessions. It features a nice pub style menu with seafood and other grilled and fried favorites. it also, has a full service Bar serving your favorite adult beverages. Typically they have a live band in the evenings from approx. 4pm to 10pm The only drawback is that the drink prices are rather high and they do not accept any credit cards, Cash Only! So be prepared.

This was a beautiful locals beach, with a concession stand, it is now a dirty hang out with overpriced food and drinks with music. It is a hangout for the young and non American crowd. Don't go anywhere near this beach with kids, the bathrooms are gross.

I was introduced to Meschutt Beach by friends who have been going there for many years. So sorry I didnt learn about it sooner! GREAT beach for families. Yes, the beach is quite narrow but therefore less traipsing across the sand. The view of the Peconic Bay is outstanding and worth the trip. Also, the Beach Hut has quite an extensive menu of GREAT food. This is not a typical menu of burgers and dogs but items such as short ribs, crab cakes, pastas, etc. The view, the sea, the food.... Perfect.

I paid $15 to park. The beach is very short and the area where you can swim is limited to where the lifeguards were stationed -- which was only about 300-400 feet of beach. The water was gross and filled with tadpoles. We left and went to Cupsogue Beach instead which was beautiful.

This beach is not nice by any means. It is a very small beach and very rocky. To top it off when we went the bathrooms were not working and they had to pull in a truck for a few hours to pump out the septic tank which was in the middle of the restaurant.... yuck! The only good thing about it is that being a bay beach the water is very calm and therefore good for kids.

Nice relaxing environment. No waves. Very shallow water. Bring your pool shoes (unless your soles are like Fred Flintstone)... Stones everywhere! Love this beach that we call "The Bay."

Where can I get a pass for Meschutt beach as s resident?

Meschutt is a Suffolk County beach. To get discounted and/or free days of parking you need a Green Key Card which you can buy at certain county parks. They are good for 3 years and good for use at all Suffolk County parks including Meschutt Beach on the bay and also Cupsogue ocean beach at the end of Dune Road in Westhampton Beach. I got my pass at Sears Bellow in Hampton Bays. For complete list, go the website suffolkcountyny.gov. and click the Green Key Card icon at the top of home page.

Can you bring your dogs here?

I would not recommend bringing Pets to this particular beach, it is one of the smaller beaches on the east end and does not have a lot of area where a Pet could run or roam around.
