Nice place

Need an appointment, so make sure you have one. Staff is hospitable, knowledgeable and accommodating. Mostly dry wines here, but all were very good.

A SMALL AND VERY PERSONAL WINERY PRODUCING DELICIOUS WINES
Nov 2020
On a recent trip to the Finger Lakes , my wife and I wanted to plan a stop at one of the wineries around Keuka Lake. We have been to a few near the lake and thought about trying something new. We read Wine Spectator and saw that one of Keuka Lake Vineyards' wines was listed as a good choice so we decided to try something new.
We made a noon reservation [ a necessary byproduct of COVID times ]. We met with Montana , our staff member for the tasting. We were in the smaller room. That building isn't as beautiful or scenically located as some other wineries but it was a friendly intimate site and perfect for tasting.
Montana is a young and relatively new employee but her enthusiasm and knowledge of the Keuka Lake wines made her well-suited for the job. We had a flight and enjoyed every one. We met the owner , Mel Goodman , as he had to ask Montana a question. Being a smaller operation , he had occasion to be in the room a few more times and we thoroughly enjoyed our interaction with both of them. We decided to join their wine club and took the newest offering with us along with another bottle.
I have included a photo of a blackboard showing the places using Keuka Lake Vineyard wines. They should be proud as it's an impressive list.
We left more than an hour later with wine we were looking forward to drinking [ fortunately the 1 pm reservation hadn't showed up yet ] and the feeling that we had also made new friends.
We are already planning a March visit.

We love this little winery!
Sep 2019
We visited this winery in 2012. We made sure that we found it again this trip and glad we found it again! The wines are all great here. The winery sits high upon a hill with the vineyards growing down towards the lake. The last time we were here the lady told us about how deep the roots of the vines grow here & how the different levels of the roots reach different minerals in the soil and affect the taste of the grapes. You enter the winery thru a grape arbor. The tasting room has a long solid wood tasting bar. The women who were doing the tastings were extremely knowledgeable about the wines and shared lots of interesting information with us. They had a Vignoles CO2 2018 bubbly wine that they had us try (not part of the tasting). It was very different and we really liked it. Our favorites were KLV Red 2015 blend, Cab. Franc, a Dry Rose (don't usually like Rose but this one was really good). We also liked the Rieslings, Gewürztraminer and Turkey Run Vignoles. This is a small winery but has the highest quality and taste . We love it.

Great riesling wines plus some interesting reds
Jul 2019 • Couples
Keuka Lake makes some great rieslings many of which have scored 90+ by Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate magazines. The $5 tasting fees gives you a choice of six wines from nine on offer (six white and three red). For $2 additional you can try one of their premium rieslings. Our favorites were the Turkey Run Vignoles (a refreshing, light taste, the KLV Red blend (cabernet franc and syrah from Long island) and the 2017 Falling Man dry riesling (beautiful taste and nose and scored 92 by Wine Spectator). If you buy three bottle or more the tasting fee is waived. It's a small tasting room with parking for only about eight cars.

White Wines
Jun 2019 • Couples
Final stop of four on our wine visits in the Finger Lakes. Another excellent set of wines to go with hospitality. I prefer red wines but if you like dry, white wines, then this is the place. Bought a bottle of the Gewurztraminer.

Riesling.
Oct 2018 • Couples
Riesling is without a doubt the flagship wine of the Finger Lakes. And there is nobody that does better Rieslings than KLV.

This is a small winery that you might overlook. They don't make a ton of varietals. Riesling, vignoles, a couple reds, and some blends. But what they do make, they do an absolutely stellar job on.

They have many different single-vineyard Rieslings, and it's amazing how different vineyards only a few hundred feet apart can produce such different wines. And they are all excellent! Yes, they are on the dry side, which is what most serious wine tends to be - so if you're not into dry wine, you'd probably be best to skip this one. But otherwise, if you want the best Riesling the Finger Lakes have to offer, I've yet to find anywhere better.

GREAT WINES
Sep 2018 • Couples
This place was the standout winery of our Finger Lakes trip. It seems to have a cult following, and I can see why. Attention to quality is key here and it shows in the wines. The different rieslings and vignoles were exceptional- and this is coming from someone who is not as crazy about whites as I am reds- Keuka Lake Vineyards definitily turned me on to whites in a bigger way. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely knowledgable and passionate about the wines.

Average All Around
Aug 2018 • Couples
With so many wineries on the lake now, it is necessary to attempt to stand out. Unfortunately, the only thing I can say about this winery is average. Average wines, lacked atmosphere, and average service. Many other wineries excel in some or all areas.

Quality Wines and Service
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is a tiny place. A very old, small building with a tasting bar that can't accommodate more than 6 people? However, we thought the wines were very good and the 2 women that were working there were friendly and knowledgeable. If you like quality wines, stop here. My only comment would be that it would be nice to have the tasting fee comped when buying a few bottles.
