About
Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery is one of the most prestigious and beloved wineries in the Finger Lakes. The winery's founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank introduced vinifera (classic European grape varieties) to the Eastern United States which ignited a winemaking renaissance in the region. Without the contributions of Dr. Frank, the Finger Lakes wine region would not be where it is today. The winery was established in 1962 and is now in its fourth generation of Frank family ownership. The winery's tasting room overlooks beautiful Keuka Lake and some of the oldest vinifera vineyards in America.

The evening before our tasting I had a glass of Dr. Frank's Dry Riesling at dinner. It was crisp and very dry...excellent. We arrived at the winery too late for the traditional tasting as there were no available reservations. We were offered a wine flight of three wines for a very reasonable price. The flights were served in the lovely outdoor area that was perfect in the afternoon sun. Our party had white wines. All our selections were dry, interesting and very good. There is a limited food menu that includes quiche, a sample of small bites, tortellini salad and cheese & charcuterie for two. For the traditional tasting experience we recommend reservations.

We had been trying to get out to this winery for a few years - we have family in nearby Geneva. I must say the experience exceeded even our inflated expectations.

We made reservations in advance, even though we didn't expect large crowds in late October. Those made the process simple when we arrived.

We tasted several wonderful wines & really enjoyed the view of Autumn colors around Keuka Lake. The roving guides were quite knowledgable and shared some very interesting stories about the history of Dr. Konstantin Frank. We all learned a lot.

Highly recommended & worth the drive.

My husband and I had a lovely time at this winery today. We were able to get a reservation for a tasting which allowed us to be able to enjoy our wine on the deck while viewing Keuka Lake below the beautiful vines. Our reservation gave us the advantage of having a wine educator (Allen), who patiently answered all of our questions and shared his wealth of information of history of the vineyard, grapes, what makes the Finger Lakes region so special for winemaking, and about each of the wines that we selected for our tasting. The ambiance of this particular winery was really about giving the customer a memorable experience. We would definitely recommend this winery on a tour or to just stop by and enjoy a glass of wine.

Well, I'll start by saying the first time I went to Dr. Frank's, several years ago, I came out cheering its name and telling anyone who would listen about how great its Riesling is. At that time, there was a bar all along the length of the tasting room wall, so not only could you taste wines, but you could take in the breathtaking views of the lake while doing so.
Dr. Frank Konstantin is not what it was. Flying into Rochester for a visit with family, I thought an impromptu day in wine country would fill some time and allow me to go back for more of that great wine. After the 2-hour drive, I was informed that because I hadn't made a reservation, I wouldn't be able to taste. This, on a Thursday, no less. I could, I was told, go to the "garden" and order wine by the glass.
But.....I'm driving. I can't have GLASSES of wine....
And how will I know which I like if I only can taste one? Reasonable to me, this quandary fell on deaf ears.
I left empty-handed, and went on down the road to the lovely Keuka wineries just South of Dr. Frank's that still know how it's done.

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the vineyard in the Signature Seated Tasting Room. The 5 wines we each selected were beautifully presented in glasses arranged in a tower that allowed us to easily identify each varietal. Along with the wine selections, we also ordered a cheese and charcuterie board. This was a great choice. New York cheeses and prosciutto were artfully displayed and tasted as good as they looked.
We had made a reservation online for the tasting and would recommend that you do so also. The quality of the wines and accompaning food is sure to attract more than the space will accommodate.

Was at Dr franks on October 3rd 2022 . We arrived at 1208pm as a walk in without a reservation and was told we couldn’t get in till 130, just myself and a friend. Knowing they were not booked because I looked before we got there I said there’s no way to get in before 1:30 the gentleman at the checkin said No . So I went outside pulled up the reservations online and there was a 12:20 available I made the reservation and we got in when we got to the tasting area there was a group or six and 4 seated with 6 empty tables and 3-4 people doing tastings so telling use they were booked till 1:30 was crap and they were willing to let a $30 tasting walk away . I’m not sure why a business would turn away and lie about being booked . But will be my last time at this winery. The gentleman that did our tasting was very polite and attentive that is the only reason I gave then 2 starts .

This tasting was, by far, one of the best we had in three days in the Finger Lakes. Dr. Frank has a LARGE selection of wines, so we described what we enjoy and asked the server to choose our flights. He was very knowledgeable about each of the wines.

We enjoyed both the wines and the view.

Of all the ten vineyards we visited on the this trip, Dr. Frank's is the ONLY one that refunds your tasting fee if you purchase (four bottles). 10% discount for a six bottle purchase and 15% for a twelve bottle purchase. (Discounts are in addition to the refunded tasting fee.)

We'll definitely do a tasting at this vineyard when we go back to the Finger Lakes.

Great ambiance and fabulous views of the lake. The presentation of the wine tasting was awesome. The staff was friendly and courteous. I also bought some honey there. It’s delicious. I would highly recommend this winery. I also bought four bottles of wine and my $15 wine tasting fee was deducted. I would go back in a New York minute

Visited in November 2022, not a busy time in the Finger Lakes. We were doing the Seneca Lake Deck The Halls that we have been doing for decades. Our daughters were able to join us this year for the first time. Although Dr Franks is not part of "Deck The Halls" we have been and wanted our daughters to visit. After about a 30min drive off the Seneca Event with 5 cars in their parking lot we were refused a wine tasting because we didn't have a reservation. It seems that the person who greeted us actually got great pleasure telling us we weren't able to do a tasting based on the obvious smirk that he had on his face. We have been going to Dr Franks for years, but this was our last trek off Seneca Lake to see them. Go to Bully Hill that is near by as they appreciate you coming and are very welcoming !!!

My husband and I visited Finger Lake region for the first time. We made a reservation for a wine tasting at Dr.Konstantin Frank Winery for Sunday morning. The experience was fabulous! George, our sommelier, was very knowledgeable and you could tell he likes his job! We each had 6 different wines that we absolutely loved! We ordered cheese platter, that had different types of cheese from nearby farms, as well as charcuterie, nuts, honey, marmalade, crackers and chocolate. The lady, who brought it to our table, told us about everything that was there, where it came from and how to pair it with wine. Tasted delicious!!! Next time we come for a visit, and we definitely will, this winery will be our number one destination. I highly recommend it to everyone, whether you are a novice to the wine tasting or an experienced one.
