This is our favorite playground in southern Westchester. A convenient break from the fast food/retail strip on Central Park Ave. All wood playground is really nice. Plus, there are animals, huge rock formations, trails, picnic areas. And they have events (bees/honey, cider-making, overnight camping in summer, etc.) for a fee and you can hire the place for parties (which we've... More

I go walking through the nature center trails a few times a month...and as I am walking I marvel at the American bald eagles, the great horned owl and the other animals that call Greenburgh Nature Center their home. The grounds are immaculate. Sometimes I bring lunch and eat my food among the flowers. Greenburgh Nature is definitely one of... More

Stopped by the Nature center and was totally surprised as to how cool of a place this is, Trails were well marked and fairly easy to navigate, a bit hilly with its ups and downs but not bad. Very nice main house Manor building, playground for the kids too. A definite stop by for the family... ENJOY....

Great day trip where you can immerse yourself in untrammeled nature just a 1/4 mile off a busy road.

We love looking at the eagles, owls, rabbits, sheep and crows. But mostly we love the huge shade trees, easy trails and picnic tables. The playground is top notch-- all of this is free- a fee is charged to see the smaller mammals, snakes and insects inside.

You can walk on the trails for free, there's voluntary admission fee for the Manor House, which contains small animals which have been rescued and are being taken care of and released when healthy. Throughout the year they have various events which includes the entire family. They have a beautiful pond with turtles and frogs.

Just what we need to know to understand those little creatures. Had a fine time with the ferrets and other little creatures.

The trails are great for a rustic run. There is an educational spot with some native animals good for kiddies, adjacent to the original manor home. The current caretakers live in the outbuilding. The Center is adjacent to the Edgemont School.

The Greenburgh Nature Center has some nice trails considering where it's located. The main house works effectively enough in terms of interest for very young children, and the rest is over before one knows it. Everyone is quite likable and caring, but it just seems other venues are in a financial position to do this better. It's also a bit... More

hiking trails, animals that you can pet and play with, knowledgable and friendly staff. Facilities are beautiful and very well maintained. Always a lot of activities going on. Don't miss prairie dogs!
