As bridges go, its nice enough and better than many. There has been one here on and off since Roman times. Always busy with traffic but does have a small cycle lane and good footpath. It will get you safely across the River Thames so...More

It's a bridge. It serves the fine purpose of allowing me to cross a river. However, it's a choke-point for traffic, and at peak times can take several minutes to cross. There's great history involved though, as the crossing here dates back to the Roman...More

As bridges go, this one is great. It will get you from Staines upon Thames to Egham, and many other places beyond. There has been a river crossing here since Roman times, originally made of Stones, where allegedly Staines got its name

There is actually a lot of history surrounding Staines bridge. It's been a major river crossing for thousands of years.

Each side of the bridge is accessed by steps. There are lovely walks on either side. Plenty of Bars and Restaurants and parking close by. A good place to visit the area dates back to Henry V111.

It's a lovely old bridge, and is great to stand on and peacefully gaze over the Thames, but it's become so busy with traffic that I don't feel comfortable doing so anymore. What else can we do though?

As bridges go, this one is a corker! It starts on one bank (south or north, depending on your location) and stretches right across the river to the other side without interruption. As a pedestrian, it enables you to go from Staines to Egham without...More
