The idea of helping children discover and learn about different cultures through the eyes of other children is brilliant. Aside from their mission, the hands on exhibits is a big hit amongst the kids. My 3 year old always looks forward to going to the museum and I look forward to seeing his development in understanding of the different exhibits over the next 5-10 years! If you're local, their museum membership is so worth it! And if you're just visiting, this low cost activity is a must if you have young children.

My son had a great time playing at the museum and really liked going up and down the bridge in Thailand. It's a fun way to expose him to different cultures early. I can't wait to bring him back when he's a bit older and can understand more.

Our family loves WACM! It is not common to find a place meant for children to learn hands on. There are many different countries and cultures represented, something for kids of all ages(grown-ups too)! We recently attended a paint and sip program, where we painted a Lake George landscape. The teacher Patrice, was so kind and helpful for my 5-year old.
Do yourself a favor and check out WACM!

We had to drag our 3.5 year old grandson out of the museum. He loved every minute of his time spent there. There are several different hands on activities to keep your child's interest. It is truly a fun, unique and educational experience.

Went by on 3/19 with my daughter after checking the website to ensure they were open. After driving for 30 minutes to get there, found that they were closed.
No explanation.
I called to speak with someone and the only option was to leave a message. Incidentally, this voicemail says to check their website for the most up to date information open and closing schedule.

Hello,
So sorry you had an unfortunate experience! I can tell you that March 19th was a day when we had many of our staff out sick, and we had to close the museum for lack of staff. If you would please email us at info@worldchildrensmuseum.org and reference this conversation, we would be happy to give you free tickets for your next visit.

If you have a child under 7 and the weather is not cooperating then a visit to this little museum/interactive is the place to go. You have education, observation, and family interaction all in one spot. We spent 2 quality hours doing a Japanese tea sitting, bought groceries using money from all over the world, cooked Mexican food, played African instruments, and played with trains and boats. Not for 10 + kids but my 5 year old grandson loved it.

We visit Children's Museums all over the country. While this one is quaint and is about one of our favorite subjects, world awareness, it was just not appropriate for our 4 year old. The staff should be interactive with the kids but were not. On the plus side, there were some very imaginative exhibits. Keep your expectations low and you will be fine.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are always looking to improve to make sure guests of all ages enjoy their visit. While our Museum is focused on children 4-11 years old, we are adding new programs and activities for younger children. We just launched a fishing activity in our rain forest area, and our new Preschool Explorer workshops for 3-4 year-olds feature hands-on projects kids can take home. We find that many young children also enjoy painting in our art studio, trying on outfits from our world fashion area, dancing in the theater, and shopping in our Nigerian marketplace. Thank you again for visiting and for your comments.

We refer families frequently to attend events at the World Awareness Children's Museum as well as when it's a rainy day and families with young children need something fun to do. We've been given kudos by those families for one of the best activities they could have done while visiting the Lake George / Glens Falls area.

Glens Falls turned out to be a charming town. Three generations of us from Toronto and Chicago, plus an extra child visiting from Bogotá, enjoyed every minute. Our kids were ages 2, 6, 8, and 9, all of them world travelers, and all of them royally entertained for close to two hours. The space is small, but encompasses so much of the world in the experiences it offers. Bravo to the founders and maintainers of this very special museum. The $5 charge per person was a bargain.

We enjoyed a late afternoon visit to the museum with my sons, ages 5 and 13 and their grandparents. We started in the art studio and my 5 year old enjoyed coloring and decorating the flag of Brazil. My older son enjoyed reading the travel books while my younger son played in the dragon boat, visited the traditional Japanese room, exchanged money and went fishing for piranhas in the rainforest exhibit. We could have used another 45 mins or so to enjoy other exhibits but we arrived 1 hr and 15 min before closing time. We were the only ones in the museum during the time we visited.
