Not the most beautiful desert I've seem, but it's the door to Sahara, so one should respect it. The pools are very open and near an army base, so if you like private things, avoid it. Accommodations in the place should improve.

The type of desert you see in the movies is right here at Ksar Ghillane. Two minutes walk from the camp and it's endless sand dunes. The thermal spring in the oasis is refreshing but warm to swim in. Perhaps inevitably the spring is at...More

This place is truly an experience you wont forget any time soon. We were staying for one night, in comfortable tents. In the evening it was a little warm, but keep the tent vented, then you'll be fine. There is a guard watcing the area,...More

I went on a short tour from Tozeur to Gabes via Ksar Ghilane, and it was one of the most magical experiences of my life. The great expanse of the Sahara desert, the feeling of utter insignificance, being a mere dot in the landscape... It's...More
