We cycled to Grand Anse. From Grand Anse we took the trail on the left at the restaurant. It’s the last stop to park your bike. It’s a 10-15 min hike depending on your fitness. Trail starts off easy with views of water and lush green tropical foliage. The last part on the trail you climb over and down a lot of rocks so wear steady shoes.

After arriving at the beach we see there is no shade at 2:45 pm (there was shade at 3:00pm). the friendly coconut vendor approaches us and informs us that to use one of the makeshift palm frond huts (which accommodate 2 people, and we are 4 people, we must buy a coconut. We are discussing walking to the next beach, Anse Cocos and he says it is a 25 minute hike further. (We went later and it only took us 14 minutes). While we continue to discus what we will do, he walks away and says “I will bring you a coconut” He comes back five minutes later with the coconut and the fee is 100 SR! At this point the kids are inside the hut and so we pay the price of 7 euro. We visited in February, if you want shade then arrive at the beach after 3 pm.

The beach is beautiful with many shades of blue, soft tan sand, lush greenery and boulders at the ends. There are strong shore break waves so not recommended for small children. No rocky coral that hurts your feet like on the west side of the island.
The beach is just like Grand Anse so really no need to hike here unless grand anse is too crowded. You need shade to visit this beach or you will burn, don’t go before 3 pm unless you plan to pay the coconut vendor for a palm frond hut. No toilets or food here.

Petite Anse Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on La Digue. About a 15-20 minute hike from Grand Anse Beach, the hike is well worth it as the views, beach itself and crowds. Petite Anse is a long, somewhat isolated beach. There are no trees so shade is a problem. But the positives far outweigh any other issues. There are few people here, even during heavy tourist times, so it feels like you are alone on this beach. As with any other beach here, take plenty of your own water and be sure to take your trash out with you.

Although this beach is only ten minutes away from Grand Anse the gruelling heat makes it a challenge to get to. However once you arrive you're in true paradise. They have a most welcome beach shack where you can get a nice refreshing drink. Then park yourself on one of the handmade palm tree loungers. Ahhhh pure bliss....

We’ve been there on honeymoon, september 2017
Looks amazing but keep in mind there is no rescue staff, only the blessed man from the bar, who save my life after i jump in waves to save another tourist which unfortunately couldn’t be saved.
Currents are very powerful and i consider myself good swimmer but quickly get lost.
I will appreciate if someone who go there can get a contact from guy at the bar with “rasta’ hair”

A good place to spend the day! Great views and the beach is beautiful! The access can be tricky, but it's worthy!

This is a smaller and more tucked away version of the beautiful adjacent Grande anse. It's pristine, great for swimming and utterly out of this world Magic to look at. Such a cute set of rustic palm shaded 'nests' along the beach and a great authentic beach bar for juices and coconut. Heaven on earth! Def stop by the anse coco next door for an equally magnificent remote beach with a bit more coral and reef.

My wife and I spent 5 nights in Seychelles in April 2013, staying in La Digue, in Le Relax Beach House. We decided to visit on the same day Grande Anse, Petite Anse and Anse Coco. Therefore, we went by foot from our hotel to Grande Anse, actually I would advise you to do it by bike, it will be faster and easier, but by foot, you can also see much more of the environment than by bike ! Once you reach Grande Anse, there is a wooden restaurant in open air, with sand everywhere. From there, there is an indication to folllow "to Petite Anse", so just follow the little walking way and be ready to climb a small hill in order to reach Petite Anse. The way to get there can be difficult if you are not in very good physical condition and don't forget that with 30 degrees Celsius, sun and fatigue, you will need to drink a lot of water (take minimum 2 liters per person) and to wear good basket, you can not do it safely with tongues on your feet...
Once you reach Petite Anse, be aware that there will not be much shadow around and the sun at midday is a killer under equator, unless you go inside the tropical forest. The waves can be very big, high and current is extremely strong and dangerous ! So, avoid to swim too far away if you decide to take a refreshing bath at water temperature of 29 degrees Celsius in April, we did it in Anse Coco, all was ok, but you really feel the strong waves pulling you away from the beach side...
I will soon add some photos HD to this review in order for you to fully understand what I mean, please also don't hesitate to have a look to my www.youtube.com channel, subject being : otterboris, where I will soon post videos HD of Anse Source d'Argent, Anse Coco and Coco Island for example.

Enjoy and try to go there once in your life at least, to be able to watch the pictures of those awesome beaches and to say to yourself, wahoo ! I was there...

This island will spoil you pretty quickly. There was a small covered area with a gentleman selling drinks. The walk from Grande Anse to Petite Anse is a bit of work up and over the rocks, but worth the effort.

This is undoubtedly a beautiful beach, well worth the scramble over the rocks from Grande Anse to get here.
However the sea which has huge waves is treacherous.
Unfortunately when we were there we witnessed a tragedy.
Please, please please be careful in the water.
Do not get out of your depth, do not attempt to swim.
