Recently saw an old John Wayne movie here and the vintage atmosphere fit perfectly. If you get a chance to see an event here, make sure you do!

While many such edifices of the late 19th have been razed, The Smith is a fine local landmark with an ambitious schedule throughout the year. Restoration should have allowed for 21st century bodies as the seats are not generous. the acoustics are reasonably good, but the decoration is a bit of a cross of a vaudeville hall and what I... We drove 4 hours just to attend a band (Mandoline Orange) that was playing at the Smith one night in Geneva. We got to the venue and it was absolutely stunning. The acoustics inside are amazing and the place itself has so much history it will overload your senses just sitting and looking around. We highly recommend the place for... More

My wife and I attended our first event ever there recently - The Art Garfunkel Concert. The show was good, until Garfunkel threw a hissy-fit and ended the show early because someone was talking in the back. That's not The Smith's fault though. The theater is absolutely gorgeous - one of those old-time showcases. We did wonder about the operations... More

The Smith is a small yet well looked after concert hall. My son and I attended the Art Garfunkel concert last night. The acoustics of the hall allowed us to enjoy the evening and the voice of Mr. Garfunkel while sitting on the aisle in the balcony. Access to our seats was easy and the staff was polite and helpful.... More

In the Finger Lakes region for an extended vacation, I was perusing a flyer of events in the area. Saw a listing for "An Intimate Evening with Art Garfunkel" at the Smith Opera House and couldn't wait to go. This is a 1400 seat theatre that is 100+ years old and it is a great venue. Art put on a... More

We we were visiting from out of town and had the chance to visit The Smith Opera House. While exploring the shops and eateries in downtown Geneva , we stopped into the Opera house. We were given a tour of the theater by a lovely lady, Laurie. Even though she was just closing up, she asked us if we would... More

This venue provides excellent programs for all ages. Ever since she was a little girl, my granddaughter has loved Smith Opera House for movie matinees, ballet and other presentations. My husband and I have enjoyed concerts with the wonderful acoustics.
