I absolutely love the mile. It has something for everyone so many different choices to choose from. The scenery is beautiful too. It is a little pricey but you'll definitely have a good time. I love that they have live music and you're right on...More
This is a great place Togo hang out with friends or bring someone here from out of town. It’s not cheap but worth it. We start at the half way down bar and go from there. We love it here. It has never disappointed us....More
not sure how some of the people doing reviews are calibrated------ I was a little nervous after reading some reviews. But my own experience has calmed all fears. This is a GREAT waterfront zone-----sure, there is a pretty big range of places and prices---just go...More
Well it wasn’t quite what I expected, but not to be a snob it was a casual, down to earth kinda environment which can be a great thing! We walked the whole mile to the end, scoping out a place to have dinner. Some of...More
Over priced food, underpaid musicians, horrible parking conditions, litter all over the streets, and did I say overpriced food? It's also not that good especially since you are paying so much. The Rip Off mile.

So the Jewel of the downstate park system in NY is Jones Beach. Miles of boardwalk and ocean. There's also Fire Island which offers you a place to stay and some nice eateries. You can't drive there but it is accessible by boats which leave from various points on Long Island seven days a week. Finally, there's Long Beach with its 2.5-mile boardwalk, oceanfront condominiums. tons and tons of restaurants and a lovely new hotel located right on the boardwalk. You might also consider Hampton Bays, the "un Hampton(s) which is a fun community with beautiful beaches, lots of housing and great restaurants. So you have lots and lots of choices. Good luck and get in the swim of things...
