I took my Grandmother and my Aunts here to celebrate my grandmother's 81st birthday. She had been wanting to do an afternoon tea once we were all vaccinated- and this experience was far more amazing than any tea house we've been to. The house and property look straight out of a storybook- private, whimsical, and enchanting. We loved Lana's stories about the house and her life, and loved the tea and treats as well. She is very accommodating and a wonderful host. We stayed longer than planned as we enjoyed the visit so much! I highly recommend if you are looking for a unique experience with loved ones, much more personal and warm than high tea at a hotel or restaurant.

My husband and I decided to take a day trip to visit Lana and the Little House. We had wanted to go during our last break but it didn't work out with our schedule. Today did and we were so excited!

The trip from us was an hour and beautifully scenic. The weather was gorgeous today and the buds are just starting to pop on all the trees and bushes. As we pulled up the driveway, the Little House welcomed us as if we had just stepped back into time.

Lana greeted us at the door and it was like we had come back to visit family! As we stepped into the house, the attention to detail was phenomenal! Lana told us the stories of the property and details of the decor and the history was rich! After the history, we took a tour of the actual house (we couldn't believe the amount of space and how well each space was used!) The real surprise was on the top level! (I won't spoil it here ;).

Once we finished the tour we choose our teas that we wanted and we relaxed at the dining room table. Lana prepared each teapot to perfection (giving us the directions to a perfect pot of tea) and inviting us to enjoy the desserts and finger sandwiches (The scones are literally a memorable experience with the special butter). YUM!

We drank and ate and asked more questions and shared more stories of the town and the history with Lana and we loved that she sat with us each time she brought a new tea to the table.

My husband and I never checked our phone or watches the whole time we were there, which in this fast-paced world, is rare and we LOVED that about our visit. We also appreciated the love that Lana has for sharing this hidden gem with her visitors!

We will absolutely be back and looking forward to seeing Lana and trying different teas next time!

I had a fabulous visit and high tea with Lana. I took my daughter and it was delightful. She is warm and charming and the house itself amazing, really a very pleasant experience in a surreal setting, making it all the more unforgettable. Can't wait to share this experience with friends when I take them to the area.

If you are planning a visit to this attraction to enjoy the English gardens as described on the website, don't bother. The "gardens" consisted of large clumps of day lilies, a lawn that needed to be mowed, a small pond complete with weeds and cat tails, and overgrown foundation plantings that desperately needed to be weeded. It was kind of embarrassing to take the "garden tour" and have the owner point out "wild strawberries"--a common weed as something unusual. There really was nothing to see. Since we were there a few weeks ago, perhaps Lana may have been able to get some help with her garden and its maintenance by now. The house tour was interesting and the tea (which was served in the morning) was fine. We were served scones, cucumber sandwiches, and pecan tarts. We were able to try various teas, all of which were for sale. The scones were exceptionally good. Lana, the hostess and owner, was very friendly and congenial--a good story teller. What an absolute delight to find an enchanted cottage, that actually offers high tea and a tour of the home and gardens. If you like commercial or franchise type coffee houses this hidden gem is not for you.

Every part of this tiny quirky home radiates love and attention to detail. I expected a small cafe, but the tour was private and exclusive to my friend and I. We were not rushed, and actually spent around four hours on the property.

I need an excuse to travel to the area again, just so I can take my 5 year old grand daughter.

Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

The very first thing I noticed when getting out of the car and stepping onto the property at Lana’s the Little House, was how peaceful and relaxed I felt. The beauty of the grounds and English Storybook Cottage immediately take you to a different (and magical) place and time.

I went with a group of friends. Upon arrival, Lana personally and warmly greeted each and every one of us and we were made to feel very welcome at her home. Outside, we were able to explore the beautiful grounds and take in the lovely scenery. Lana told us the story about the property and her beloved little English Storybook Cottage. Next, we went inside, where we got a tour of the upstairs and downstairs of the home. Everything was decorated so beautifully and there were so many little details, you had to look very closely, as some things were hidden surprises. In addition, the upstairs has a cute little balcony you can go out on, with gorgeous views of the property.

After our tour and hearing the very interesting stories associated with the cottage, we got to go to Lana’s tea shop, where she sells many different, unique and delicious varieties of teas! It is so hard to make a choice, because they all smell so great! (We were able to smell the different varieties). My two favorites (which I have bought) are the “Snowflake” and “Orange Chocolate”.

Lana’s the Little House is definitely the place for anyone who loves architecture, tea, nature and beauty! My friends and I really enjoyed ourselves and Lana is such a great hostess! The property is so serene, I felt like I could have brought a chair and sit outside for hours (which Lana said I could)! Also, Lana was nice enough to help me with the planning of our trip and gave me some great suggestions on local wineries and restaurants in the area. Thank you Lana, for a wonderful time!

*Insiders Tip: My group and I did the tour of the home only, but Lana also offers tea parties, where you get to taste her delicious teas and scones!

A delightful way to spend time with friends and enjoy delicious tea, scones, butter tarts, and cucumber sandwiches. Conversations with the hostess, Lana, make it even more enjoyable. Learn the correct way to make tea while sampling from her extensive collection. Beware if you have an allergy to cats as Lana has two of them.

What a truly delightful experience this was! We arrived for afternoon tea and were greeted warmly by Lana, who regarded us like old friends. The Little House itself is absolutely enchanting, like stepping back through time, and the outdoor gardens and pond were gorgeous in late August.

After chatting with Lana, learning the history of the property and relaxing in the living room area for a bit, we went into a light-filled dining room to relax and sample several pots of tea while dining on scones, cucumber sandwiches and tarts. The food was delicious and the atmosphere so warm.

Lana is a dear, and her tours and tea were perfect for a ladies' afternoon to catch up and sample new brews. The Little House also offers a small gift shop with many blends of delicious tea (snowflake is a favorite!) and trinkets. We loved it all.

For tea lovers, anglophiles, lovers of unique architecture and just those looking for a different sort of afternoon, The Little House is a perfect destination. Highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return. In fact, I look forward to it!

(While Lana requests that no photos be taken of the house, she herself takes snapshots of guests and posts them for free to download on her website. I hope she won't mind that I snapped one of the exterior! I just couldn't help myself.)

A wonderful way to celebrate our Mom's Birthday on a warm sunny afternoon. Unlike the other reviewer's comments, we enjoyed the English Gardens surrounding the house with a number of flowers in bloom, a beautiful sloping lawn with a view of the countryside, & a little pond with frogs letting us know they were there. I could have spent the afternoon in a lawn chair just taking in the beauty of this secluded spot. The history & design of this place is interesting, colorful & surprising. The tour of the cottage was fascinating & fun. After the tour we enjoyed a wonderful tea time sampling several of the 50+ teas Lana offers along with nice cucumber tea sandwiches & scones & butter tarts so incredibly delicious nothing was left when we were done! The teas are available for purchase if you wish-I'm not a tea drinker but I thoroughly enjoyed our selections & purchased my favorite tea. Lana is a wonderful hostess, a great conversationalist, & obviously enjoys her guests. We felt so welcome here!
One bit of advice- Lana's is not a place for children. Enjoy this wonderful little escape with your loved ones & friends.

Lana is welcoming and provides many stories about the Little House. Including that is available on Air B n B. That would be an experience to stay in this small place. While it was rainy at the time of our visit, this house is cosy. Barney the cat doesn't alway take to the visitors but we were adopted soon after we sat down. This was certainly adventure that we will tell others. Also enjoyed having tea with her and hearing about her background.
