Went to the Forestburgh Playhouse for the first time back in 2014 to see Mary Poppins. Having seen the play before on Broadway, I wasn't sure what to expect at such a small town playhouse. The show was excellent with a mix of professional Actor Equity Association, college drama students and local actors. The downer at the time..... the seats... More

have been going to the Forestburgh Playhouse during the summer for a few years now. This summer we saw Damn Yankees as well as 42Street at the Playhouse. The actors were talented & put on a great show. My only complaint are the seats, which are really squishy with practically no leg room. Nice to know that the playhouse will... More

Last Friday evening (9/4/15) we enjoyed seeing Driving Miss Daisy performed at the Forestburgh Playhouse in Forestburgh, NY (approx. 95 miles northwest of NYC). The cast of 3, including Lorreta Swit of MASH fame, put on an enjoyable and entertaining performance. The new owner has made numerous improvements to the theatre and the adjoining Tavern and, we were told, plans... More

Fabulous! Our first time at the playhouse was to see Driving Miss Daisy staring Lorreta Swit and we loved it! The intimate setting was exactly what we expected. We didn't go to The Tavern afterwards but hear it's very good, perhaps next time as there will be a next time!

I recently went to the performance of Young Frankenstein at this small, intimate theatre. The actors/singers delivered an extraordinary show - a little taste of Broadway for a reasonable price! There is a restaurant on sight for drinks and snacks, and parking is a bit tight. The Forestburgh Theatre is about an hour from lower Orange County, NY.

Attending a performance at the Forestburgh Playhouse is much more than a night of engaging, professional theater. The enjoyment began on the scenic and tranquil, forest-lined drive to the theater and continued before the show began as we wandered through the well kept gardens and relaxed on the outdoor patio, drink in hand. When it was time to take our... More

We did the dinner show which was surprisingly good. Both the buffet and the Music Man exceeded our expectation. The place is beautiful and the cast were very enthusiastic.

A long weekend in Upstate NY is not complete without a visit to the Forestburgh Playhouse. Broadway performances are given in quiet beautiful surroundings. My husband and I visited the playhouse to see an amazing production of 42nd St. The cast was extremely talented and it felt as if we were actually in Manhattan, but without the noise, traffic or...
